There are a couple of shops in NorCal that specializes in Corvettes:
MSI Motorsports - Mark in Roseville/Sacramento Area
TPS Motorsports - Mike in the Bay Area
These shops are NOT flat rate shops like dealers trying to slam jobs out. Dealer techs are flat rate paid and make time on jobs. The more jobs they kick out the more they’re paid. Specialty shops pay their tech hourly to get it done.
I know plenty of non-dealers that are flat rate shops and most of them have similar labor rates as dealers. The main difference can be that you'll have a 20 year old 'kid' doing the work at an independent shop, but a 20+ years of experience trained tech doing it at a dealership.
There are exceptions to every rule, but we should not be grouped into the same class as most dealers. Each of my Corvette techs here typically has as much experience as a shop full of independent mechanics combined.

We have lowered or modified more C8's than any shop in Northern California.. here are some of the cars we have done recently. In fact, I am sure we have more Corvettes in our shop than most dealerships in their service center. We have been around for 14 years and everyone of our techs have EXTENSIVE experience with performance cars.. my 2 main techs have over 15 years each of working on Corvettes.
