Road to Life - August 12th
As many members know I am a cancer survivor and every year I try to participate with "Relay for life".
This year is the same only different. I never ask for contributions so you can put your wallets back in your pockets. This year I want to ask for something else and that is a few hours of your time.
This years event is call the "Road to Life" and what better way to travel that road than in a Corvette.
No I am not asking you to give cancer patients, survivors or caregivers a ride in your Corvette but you can if you like. All I am asking is that you just show up with me in your Corvette at Burgess Park, 701 Laurel Street, Menlo Park on August 12th.
The organizers of the event will provide special parking for our cars and, if we arrive by 11:00 AM, any "Survivors" can walk the survivor lap with me. Immediately after that lap there will be a "Caregiver" lap for those of us who have lost loved ones and worked so hard to make their final days on this earth as comfortable as possible.
I realize this won't be as fancy as "Sonoma Magic" so to entice everyone I would like to add a little fun to the event and have an after party at our home in Livermore for a late lunch that Debbie and I will provide.
So what do you say - A little morning drive; spend some time with people that can really use your encouragement and then enjoy lunch together. Sound to good to be true? It is not. Thanks for your consideration.
P.S. - I hope this is O.K. with my better half as I didn't clear the lunch with her yet

Thanks Jim we now have an unofficial car count of 13. That includes 6 members of the Santa Clara Corvette Club. I'll have an updated car count by the end of the week.

I'm not a survivor or caregiver. But I will attend. This is very important.
OP, thank you for your service. It's people like you who give hope to people in need. And sometimes hope is all they need. I've seen positive energy bringing people back from stage 4.
Gotta run wash the car and attend the show!

I'd like to give a huge thanks to Chuck for organizing this fantastic event and a big thanks to both Chuck and Debbie for welcoming us into their beautiful home. This was a very successful day with 20 Corvettes and one Lamborghini Hurican.

Thank you all for coming. Your time was everything that made this event special. Deb and I had a great day and were so glad you could spend time with us Saturday afternoon. Thanks to the members of Santa Clara Corvette and David Wilson who helped me organize the South Bay Corvettes; thanks to Don Henning and Debbie who helped me in the North Bay and a special thanks to my daughter for getting me involved in this event. She was hoping for 3 to 5 cars and she got 21.
