Corvette Spectacular - what's the difference between the entry classes?
What denotes the difference between Stock, Modified, and Custom? Any SCC members or anyone in the know mind explaining this?

G. Modified Entry Requirements

2. Any changed paint scheme, including graphics, striping, flames and multiple colors.
H. Custom Entry Requirements; any two or more from the list.
1 Flared Fenders
2 Multi-colored non-stock paint
3 Substantially changed interior
4 Molded in changes such as non stock spoiler or air dam
5 Ground effects kit
6 Wing
7 Non stock hood
I. Competition Entry Requirements
1. Must show proof by results or common knowledge of Corvette having been
used during competition by entrant in six rallys, drags, road races or autocrosses. A minimum

2. Not necessarily street legal.
3. Must have a roll bar if required by code.
4. Must have mounted fire extinguisher if required by code.
5. Must have an approved helmet in plain view inside the Corvette.
6. Must have scatter shield on standard shift transmission if required by code.

I've got the GM splash guards, but they're painted Carbon Flash (something GM should've offered in the first place in my opinion). Guess that'll stick me under "modified"?
Seeing as they're bolt-on, may just remove 'em and enter it as "stock" so I'm not competing against folks who've been actually buying pricey mods.

It's been a few years since I participated in WSCC shows, but I've been in 34 of them and judged 30 of them. If they are enforcing the rules properly, ANY modification puts you in modifies class. If you show in stack class with any modifications a judge may deduct points.
To the OP, stock is usually not quite as competitive as modified, because there are usually fewer cars in stock. WSCC shows are basically a car detailing contest and cleanliness is the most important thing. You will see people cleaning under their hoods with q-tips, seriously. Typically the difference between first and second place is a fingerprint on a window. It may sound silly, but it's quite a sight to see 100+ Corvettes in one place cleaned to this level.
Try PMing doje, he is a member here and an officer in the WSCC, Corvette Spectacular is his home club's show. He could give you the final word on how the rules are currently being enforced. Best of luck in the show.

I'll honestly just be happy to have an entry. My '01 was never in the shape I wanted it to be in (especially after a local body shop eff'd up the paint), so I never entered it before it got totaled. It'll be fun to show off the Stingray, regardless of whether I get any sort of prize.
I need to message up doje anyways, I had a few q's about the club that I figure he'd be the right guy to ask.
