South Bay convoy to Rainbow Run
Hello everyone from the Southern part of the Bay!
This looks like a pretty good meeting spot (easy to get onto the freeway), and it is also far enough "north" that we can hopefully attract a few people.
Meet at:
Palo Alto Business Park
1121 San Antonio Road
Palo Alto, CA 94303
Arrive by: 8:15AM
Leave at: 8:30AM
I would suggest bringing as full of a tank as possible, so that we minimize congestion at the two gas stations in Petaluma. Don't forget radios set to channel 10-0. That's about it.
Going: (as of 4/5/13)
1. Theredone
2. andy82
3. MCM95403
4. ScottK
5. Chevyjags89

We were planning on doing the San Mateo Bridge and Richmond-San Rafael route. Keeping a group together through San Francisco's traffic lights could prove to be rather difficult. It would be much easier to be on the freeway the whole way up.

I agree,
Start in Palo Alto. Cross the San Mateo bridge and head up 880 over the Richmond San Rafael back on 101 and into Petaluma...

I am all for going either way, across the GG or Rich/San Raph
Theredone made a good point about easier to stay together on the freeway rather than through lights on 19th ave. is all.
Would be fun to cruise together to Petaluma.

I suppose we could go over the GG bridge if that's what people want.
I guess I was relying too heavily on my last experience driving on 101 through SF.
So, that's what we'll do. Nothing changes in terms of meeting times.

Chevyjags89 and I could hang out at the Whipple Ave on-ramp of 101. When you guys get close just call us on the radio and we'll join the formation.
If we go 101 to 380 to 280 we should be good and save a lot of time compared to the other route.
There's a Chevron station at Rowland Ave in Novato (east side of the freeway) that we could go to and avoid the Petaluma crowd.
