Default Alignment problem?

I was looking at my front tires and I think I have a problem.

It looks like the outside of my right front tire is worn way more than the left front. I have also noticed that TPMS reports sometimes higher pressure on the right front after driving for a while (tire heating up faster/more?).

I'm guessing this is an alignment issue?

I'm going to get new tires soonish (need higher treadwear rating for auto-x). Is there a reason to wait until then, or better to get it looked at right away?

Any recommendations in South Bay?

I think the last Auto x took it's toll on them. Our right front was much worse after the end of the weekend compared to the left front.

Thanks! I guess it's time to start thinking about the new tires then.

Why?

I don't see any cords showing.

Seriously, you have a lot of tread left. Those tires will probably last quite a while. Get your alignment checked/done and drive them till they're worn.

Dog

Tires are like underwear, you wear them, then you change them.

Have to agree with Mel. Lots of life left. Also, at the Solano event, front right took much more wear than anything else.

If you want to check alignment, go to Shaghasi Auto Tech in San Jose. $99 four wheel alignment. 10% off for AAA members. Great service as well.

Thanks. I knew you'd have a recommendation.

The problem with these tires is not (yet) tread, but the treadwear rating of 140. WSCC rules have a minimun of 150 for street tires. I'll get the alignment checked, see how I do in Marina and then consider my options.

For a performance alignment, you want the best. I bet you wouldn't take it to the Wal Mart Shop, just cause it is cheap.
Price should not be the deciding factor.
Come to the Corvette event at Club Auto Sport this Sat. May 12th from 9 am to 1 pm. Cars and Caffeine.
Look at the machine they have at Borelli Motor Sport and ask some questions. Check out the cars they align and what they do. They are also an advetiser hear on this Forum.

Shaghasi aligned my '87 in December. The nose no longer bounces
around going over Bott's Dots.

But if it's cool weather, take a parka. Their waiting room is COLD.

Chuck
And bring a snack unless you don't go nuts smelling cookies from the commercial bakery next door.

The guys at Shaghasi are extremely competent. They aren't racers, but if you bring your desired specs, they'll nail them for you (within mechanical limitations of the car).

Thanks for the recommendation. My alignment was off and they took care of it.

Chatted with Alex a bit and he's clearly run into a few club members / autocrossers..
