Brand New LS6 Crate Motor
My buddy bought a brand new 405hp LS6 crate motor / engine about 18 months ago for a resto-mod project, but never got around to it. This motor was originally built for the Cadillac CTS-V. The ONLY difference between it and the Corvette LS6 are the oil pan, valve covers, and balancer - all of which you just use from your old LS1 or LS6 motor.
This is a complete long block, but no accessories, no manifolds, etc.
Again, this is brand new, never removed from the pallet, never installed, never opened up. A basic drop-in for any C5 Corvette.
I spoke to Richie at Abel and he said that the last time he was even able to get his hands on one of these (can't find them anymore), the dealership paid over $5500 for it. I assume that was followed by a markup and sales tax to the customer.
$4800 Local - Not interested in shipping right now.

I really need this motor. My LS6 crank is walking and ruining my balancers. The bearing is bad too. I cant pay 4800 though. Scoggin and Dickey's was selling them for $3960 with accessories but apparently they cant get them anymore... If you are willing to go down on the price let me know. Also, do you think a Toyota Tundra with 4.0 V6 could drive that thing all the way back to Chico, CA about 3.5 hrs from San Jose?

Sorry, thats just way lower than he'll go. My local coin shop used to have 1 oz gold coins for $350. Now they're $1800. These motors are now $6000+ if you can even find one. $4800 is a steal for someone that really needs one.
As far as the pickup, yes no problem at all. The motor Only weighs about 400 pounds.

SOLD
And for those doubters - I got my full asking price plus an extra $200 to deliver it to the local FedEx office. It's on it's way to a very nice gentleman who desperately needed it for his Corvette that blew it's engine while sightseeing in Nigeria.
OK, it was a local guy with cash, but who's counting?
