Default new CHP hiding spot

When I was headed home today I saw a sneaky new CHP hiding spot. Northbound 101 right at 85. As you go under the 85 merge ramp on the right side there is a spot in the shade that makes it pretty difficult to see them. It's a nice acceleration lane that seems purpose-built for this. As you approach from 101 south of 85, the concrete barrier is unbroken. For the CHP to get in there they have to pull in, then back up about 150 feet to hide.

Keep your eyes peeled everyone!

Thanks for the warning. I saw a new one last week. Near Martinez, northbound 680 near the Highway 4 exit. Opposite the exit is a break in the k-rail in the median strip. There was a motorcycle chp lidaring cars in the fast lane going toward the Benicia bridge. No chance of seeing the guy until you pass him. I saw him from the fast lane. Fortunately, I was going southbound. I would have been meat. Be careful. Willie

I haven't seen that one in a while, but I have seen them just north of there often I'll see cops on the side. Occassionally it's motorcycle cops hiding between the truck scales and automall.

I saw a new one (for me) the other day.

Southbound 101 around Morgan Hill. Suddenly my Valentine's laser detector went off. I lookED around and didn't see anything at all. Then I spotted him hiding behind the far right end of the guard rail on the overpass that I was approaching. You could barely see the roof of his car over the top of the guard rail. I was actually thinking "what a great hiding place!"

I must hit that spot at peak commute times. The traffic is always jammed up.
