MSI is definately still a vendor. Haven't heard if anyone will be there for this or not yet. Time's running short.

It appears painfully obvious that the annual event you all have enjoyed over the years in Sacramento has died. I am talking about the organized event that used to start at Arco Arena and of late started at The Blood Source lot off Mather Blvd and highway 50 and ended at the Sunrise Mall. Sacramento Area Corvettes (SAC) was the organizer of this event and no longer exists as a club. Larry Herrback was very involved with the event early on but ousted after it was discovered that Larry personally benefited from this involvement. I won't say any more than SAC would never name this event the Larry Herrback memorial run. That is someone else's idea.

I don’t see any local club promoting this. It looks like the driver (SAC) has expired at the wheel with the cruise control on. I have no idea what you are going to find but it does not appear that you will have registration, coffee and donuts, police/CHP escort, Shiners staff to receive donations, the fire department cooking lunch, a local radio station broadcasting on location, a show-n-shine, trophies, and all the other things that went along with this event in the past.

Good Luck to you all and enjoy your Saturday, whatever it develops into.

There is VERY Little organization to this, and sounds like a hope and a guess what will happen. I think I will sit this one out, and donate a toy somewhere else. I don't think I am the only one that feels this way either.

Its a shame you guys dont have any good things to say about this event..
Kinda hard to say what something is going to be like without going and finding out for yourself. for all you know this could turn out to be a great event being that its in one location for once.. we are still planning on going in force.. I have close to 40 cars signed up that are willing to give this new format a try..some coming as far as las vegas. we have 4 meet spots then a cruise to the main location.. There is still a car show with trophies, raffles, snacks, and who know what else will be there till we get there.

BUT we all need to remember the main point of going to the event.
The kids and the foundations the funds are going to..

To each his own i guess...
Happy Holidays

The Cappuccino Cruizers have an event that same day where you can donate your toy. The event is being held at the shopping center called American River Plaza Center (Ace Hardware & Big Lots parking lot) which is at the intersection of Madison & Greenback. The event is really for cars 1974 and older, but they usually have dozens of beautiful cars out there.

These guys put on many spectacular events. If you've ever seen all the old cars in the Red Robin parking lot in Folsom, that's these guys. 1st class operation.

Dennis,

Duck season is still going for until the end of January. Just taking a break for an annual trip. Almost like the fishing and craps shooting that you like to do. Let me know when you want to go hunting, altough you will need a shotgun and not an AR. I was looking forward to seeing everyone before I left, but that was before they changed the location of the event.

Hope this time you picked up the "lucky rocks" in a field instead of paying some shop owner for them!

Event to be held at the Aerospace Museum of California, 3200 Freedom Park Dr. McClellan, Ca. 95652

Saturday, 4 December 2010

For the last 2 years NCV has been attending this event and it has been a big success
In 2008 we as a forum donated 2500.00 and a boat load of toys for the Shriner's Burn Center.
In 2009 we also donated 1700.00 and another boat load of toys... Last year they had 130 cars registered and NCV was 60 of them... I would love to see the same turn out as the last 2 years...
Please mark this on your calendar so you dont forget this great cause..

Thanks again for all the support NCV.............

This year's Toy Run will be the "Larry Herrback Memorial Run" with all funds from the car registrations, after expenses, being donated to the American Diabetes Association in Larry's name. Toys will be going to the Children's Burn Unit as it has in the past. So please put this on your calendar and additional information will be forthcoming. Thanks!

$10.00 registration fee (per car)

Peoples Choice Car Show, 1st, 2nd, 3rd place trophies & club participation award

Bring an unwrapped toy for donation to Shriners Burn Center

Proceeds will be donated to the American Diabetes Foundation

This will not be a ”Run” but a gathering place for the car show, toy drop off and attendees can visit the museum (at own cost) which is currently featuring “Star Trek The Exhibition” (additional Cost). Freedom Park is adjacent to the parking lot which would be a good spot for a picnic.

Look forward to seeing you there!
Since the other Corvette association who was actually doing this event has folded up. It may be a good time to tell the people in your 40 car list exactly what it is you intend to do for them in place of the canceled activities.

What canceled activities ? ? ? What the cruise from the one place to another .. ? ? cause thats about the only thing that is not going on this year so far that we for sure know of... This event hasnt happened yet.. So who can really say what will be going on and what wont be going on... Everyone seems to be assuming... And we all know what that means..

How about we give the people putting this on a chance..

All this negativity during the holiday season.. And I wonder why I never hang on this site..

It appears the Sacramento club is still holding the event. I hope you all who attend will have a great time.
