HOD event on Oct 26 at Laguna Seca. Happened on my second session, on my 2nd warm up lap. I am running MPSC so they take anywhere from 3 to 5 laps to get up to temp depending on weather conditions. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlvbUIGTXIQ
My season is done for the year but come next year I'll be running 09 Z06 diff, TR6060, Subframe with Pfadt adapter mounts

Looks like you were having fun too sucks.
03-04 cobra diff works very well too.
My friend has a LS7 440 stroker with it and modded Porsche half shafts
that setup works very well.
Just an option, btw I'm going to run this track this year first time can't wait
It works in a FD RX7 with a Corvette LS7 motor.
And you can make anything work, The only thing you have to decide on is it worth it!
Nope, a cobra diff will not work in our Corvettes and there isn't any reason to ever pursue it, at any cost.
Yea I know something about the cobra diff conversion in a 3rd gen RX7.
Having owned three 3rd gens and built one CA smog legal (passed BAR) LS6 V8 conversion, and tracked all 3 for an aggregate time of 10 years, I have some insight.
Even though I don't own one anymore, I still appreciate their abilities and looks.
Your friend with the RX7 LS7 440 stroker wouldn't be Mike would it?

The corvette trans is attached directly to the diff, I am very fimilar with borh cars and I guess if you had a ton of money you could firgure out a way to make it work but not worth it at all. What he said he is doing (09 Z06 conversion) is the best option out right now.
Sounds like you experienced some wheel hop and then it let go?
No wheel hop. The sound you hear at first is the start the of the pinon climbing up the ring gear and then the diff case cracks vertically and dumps oil I have never had any wheel hop in my car. I am hopeful that my Rockland Gear Transmission with all the expensive parts survived having the DTE diff brace. I know the DTE brace kept the diff case from shearing worse. We shall see
Having said that, come after the first of the year, I will be selling my transmission if it checks out and/or priced accordingly, DRM trans cooler, and DTE trans/diff brace. The DRM diff cooler will be tossed since everything is contaminated

Yes sir.
Just throwing out an option,But I guess it's not

So there is no drive line at all?
I didn't know the motor was set so far back that the Trans could bolt directly to the diff.
The corvette seems to be a longer and bigger car than the FD.
And with the LSx motor and t56 trany the drive line is like 4' long to bolt up to the diff in the FD.

There is a torque tube that connects them, Im sure you can find a picture online. All C5/C6's are like this.
If you think you would like to change ratios in the differential at a later date the Z06 cannot be switched. You are better off going with a late model Z51 differential. I believe it is 2007 and newer. I have an '08 in my '03 Z with Phadt adaptors and a 2005 rear cross member.
Also the over axle portion of your exhaust will have to be changed since the differential brackets interfere with the C5 exhaust.

Reason: added cross member

Yea I knew I was going to have to alter the exhaust (catback)
Did you alter yours or did you go with a different setup?
I had alot of work being done by MSI. They installed their new drop spindle uprights, QA-1 double adjustable coilovers, LS7 flywheel/clutch, Rockland Standard Gear close ratio 6 speed and the
08 Z51 differential that was strengthened and the ratio was changed to 3.90's by RSG. Next door to MSI is Porter Muffler, they did the exhaust change. Just the section up over the axle.

Thanks for the reply.
Sounds like you have a really stout setup
