Default Taking the wife to SAC airport from Tracy. What route to take with "Fix I5"

I am not sure what route to take, but dropping the wife off in Sac at 6PM today. Normally I would just shoot up I5. Not sure what it looks like out there. Any advise

Well, if you're asking about CHP, I rarely see any on my Danville/Chico runs on I5. Good luck, and always (or your passenger) look to your right as you go under an overpass.

John- I am talking about traffic. I will have the wife with me so no need to drive spirited. She already knows I am crazy.

Damn Steve that seems like some complicated chit right there. How bad is it in Sac???? If I just used the detours will it be more then a 30 minute delay? Usually I can make the trip in about 60 minutes, if I give my self 90 should I be fine?

Also is both sides shut down? I need a route back to Advanced Dyno after I ditch the wife.

Teddy,

Here is a link to the I-5 fix site. I work down town and have just been getting off at 10th street. Not sure what to recommend for a detour, although you could get on 10th street and then at "J" street you can get back on because if is past the current work that is going on. Give ourself some extra time The only other route that might make sense is to take 99 until it merges with 80 and then head back to 5.

Larry- I can easily take 99 as well. Once I get into Stockton I can get on the crosstown and jump over to 99. When you say "merge" with 80 does it turn into 80 and I only have one way? I want to make sure I make the right turns since time will be critical. If you can lay me out with directions that would be great

example= go 99 east, merge to 80 west, back onto I5 south

Of course thats just an example I have NO idea which directions to go. I just know to jump on 99 and drive towards Sac. HAHA

Hey Teddy from what I remember when I lived in Sac. 99(business 80) will only go 80 east to Reno. So you would have to get off on Watt Ave to get on 80 west.

Here's a mapquest link: If you take Watt Ave exit, make a left on Watt, then hit 80 west.

If I knew the road system better, I might be able to help ya out.. Still figuring it out tho. But... you wanna cruise down together? I live like 5 miles from the airport.. If so, let me know when and where to meet ya.

I would take I5 to 80W and then take the 80E exit to Reno, you'll hit I5 agaion north of all the construction.

Teddy,

Not to confuse the issue further, but here is what Cal-Trans is suggesting which sounds like what teejake is saying.
