Hey guys i need to find a hotel room around Sutter Memorial. I don't want anything fancy, seeing as i won't be there but to sleep. I just need some place with a clean room and non smoker. What do you guys recommend?
If you are going to Sac in relation to a visit to the Sutter facility, contact Sutter. They usually have an arrangement for discounted rates with one or more hotels. When I did this related to a visit to Sutter's California Pacific Medical Center in SF, it turned out that Sutter owns Cathedral Hill (the old Jack Tar) on Van Ness ave. I got a room for $69.00 a night including parking, shuttle service to and from Sutter CPMC and a buffet breakfast.

That hotel will be no more...... Demo will start either the end of this year or the end of next... I can't remember... and a 1.4 billion dollar 550 bed hospital will be built there. My company is actually in a joint venture to build it...

I was just reading the other thread in which you were in....so anyone have any recommendations? I'm going to call the hospital tomorrow and see what they say.

Several employees there told me that Kaiser had purchased it and were going to tear it down and build a new hospital.

I just moved out here, and a friend of mine that could have gotten you employee rates just moved out to Vegas.. sorry, no suggestions here other than calling the hospital. Good luck with why ever you are spending some time at the hospital. I hope everything is ok..

That's good to hear. My wife works for Sutter. This info was awhile ago, when things were probably still in the rumor stage.
Kaizer never bought it, but we are the 3rd contractor team to attempt it. First one was so big it was unfeasible, second got kicked off the job, and now us... third time's a charm!

If you eat lunch at Tommy's Joint (next door on Van Ness) say, three times a week while you work on the project, you'll gain 50 lbs before the project is finished.
