Default HELP with steering column lock

Just purchased a 2001 Z06 and having issue with the steering column lock. The recall was already done about 2 years ago but still having issue with it. Is there anyway to resolve this problem?

Honestly I would buy the Column Lock Bypass (CLB) from Thunder Racing and call it good. Take the GM relay out and install the CLB. It seems to work. We warranty a lot of those relays from the harness kit that was the second fix under the recall.

Richierich Z06, is it easy to install the CLB from Thunder Racing? Or do I need to bring it to a Chevy dealership and have them to do the install?
How much do you think it will cost for the dealership to install it?

I did this fix on my 98 coupe it was easy. The kit has the bypass that will keep the computer from throwing codes and a tool that puts 12v to the solenoid which will retract the lock if yours is still locked. Great kit and easy with their instructions. Give it a try!

It is really a 15-20 minute install.
