New to the area - Small G2G Friday night?

Hello All!

I'm new to the area (Redwood City) and was wondering if any of you would like to meet up at the closest hooters (I believe it' sin Freemont - about 30 mins away) and drink a few suds and perhaps eat a wing or few on Friday or Saturday night?

If someone else already has a get together planned, then I mean no disrespect and please disregard this (but I didn't see anything posted here).

I don't know ANYONE out this way yet and would sure love to meet some folks with similar interests!!!

There is an Auto-X going on Saturday down in Marina.

I'm always up for a Hooter's GTG, Saturday night would work better for me (assuming I don't break my car at the auto-x).

In any event, there is always something going on.

Thanks! I'll GMap Marina and see about going. I'll probably just watch. The car is setup for racing, but I believe I'll just be a spectator for now. If one did want to race, what's the entry fee?

Also, is it a vette only event?

We could probably make sat night work. Anyone else?

Vettes only, see the link in TM-Z06's post. My first one I went to watch, boy did I wish I brought a helmet that time.

This will actually be my first time driving it.

Been racing for many years but I'm new to the area so obviously don't know anyone and am not a member of any of the local clubs. Probably easier to meet folks if I'm not driving. Maybe I'll bring a helmet just in case.

If you DON'T break [something on] your car at an event, then something is wrong with you!

Inky, I've been on the forums for about 10 years. I was one of the first members. I used to hang out in OT quite a bit. These days I just mostly lurk for good/funny stories and good pics of slims.

Now over to that other thread labeled "delete me".

Yeah that thread got a little out of hand there for a sec (Shalen)

, we had to reel it back in. I think it's back on track now...

I GMap'd marina. It's about 1.5 hours from me. That's a long haul, but sounds like fun even if I only go to watch.

Where exactly is the event? I might just travel on down thataway even if I am rolling on R6's and gas is almost $5/gal....

I got myself all psyched up to go to Marina tomorrow then somehow I came down with a nasty sinus infarction overnight last night. I'm all kinds of sick. Already self-medicating so hopefully will feel better tomorrow AM and can still make it down!

You will find out that just about all the events are 1.5-2 hours away. I am never sure why but that's the way it comes out.
