I'm getting my first corvette (2002 Z06) the end of this week and will probably be driving out to Yosemite with my wife. I need to put some miles on the brand new ls6 that went in it, and that would be a nice drive and great opportunity to get some miles!

I'm in Natomas btw..

I don't know of anything this weekend, but we are having Drag Night 4 at Sac Raceway Wednesday. There will be a Corvette only lane. The track opens a 4:00. The earlier you get there the more runs you'll get

Think we could push my car to the staging lanes so it at least LOOKS like I'll be running?

Tell me about the Auburn cruise night. I was born there and spent most of my youth in that area. (D.O. 1966).

With the front settin' high it will look like its launchin' hard! You could put a smoke bomb under the rear tires for affect.

it would be pretty fun to all role in at one time to the track! Maybe we could all meet somewhere before hand and then hit the track at once! I know that would be a real nice sight to see myself!

And all 500W of audio hardware blaring a big-block running pegging the revlimiter? That would be SWEET.

There is also the weekly Wednesday night car show at the Red Robin in Folsom. They had a great turnout for the first event a couple of weeks ago.

The show is free to pre 74 cars. There were at least 10 Corvettes at the one a couple of weeks ago. Here is a picture from the show.

Auburn Cruise Night is for pre-72 car models. They limit it to about 300 cars, that's all the street will hold. Cruise is actually a park and walk. You need to be there early, before 6 at least because they fill up every month. If you have a 72 or later car you can park on the next street over and walk the drag. Worth it either way.

OK. Tell me about that (where's the Red Robin). I'll be staying with my father-in-law in Granite Bay. Folsom's just a stone's throw from there.

Ken,

It is at 1011 Riley Street. Just take Folsom/Auburn road and go across the bridge into old town Folsom. Follow the road up the hill and the Red Robin is about a half mile on the left side.
