Default Tires / allignment / balancing around Cupertino / Los Gatos?

Heya folks, looking for tire shop recommendations around the Cupertino / Los Gatos areas.

I'd like to get some Michelin ZP's on my '01 sometime soon, and I'd like to get it done either close to home (Cupertino) or close to work (Los Gatos); preferably would like to let them handle getting the tires unless I'm gonna get some fat discounts by getting the ZP's shipped to my place through Luke.

Thanks in advanced!

If you are speaking about luke from TR, then you can go to the TR site and look for an installer/alignment shop.

If you go with TR, it's well worth a drive across the bridge to Krause; they'll get you in and out on appointment. Allow more time, and go see Rich at Fairfield Chevrolet; he can come in close to cost, if not better, than a TR/installer deal.

I know the manager of the America's Tire Co on Stevens Creek. They can get you tires, mount, & balance no problem. They do not do alignments though, but I've got a hook up for that too.

Order your tires from Tire Rack and drop ship to Northstar. Dave Bonar will take care of you including a custom alignment if you desire. I did this with my 2000. Michelin Pilot Sports AS ZP - great tire.
Northstar is on Calderon in Mountain View 650-963-3134

Yah... I've been to NStar before with a previous vette... and I'm not entirely sure I want to go there again. I don't think I've had a great experience yet with 'corvette specialists'...

RrCoX22, was the wheel works you're speaking of the one right by where 85 and el camino?

ya dave was a dick to me last time i was there.... ya thats the one, right next to the honda MX dealership... seen a lot of high pricy cars go in and out through there... they will give you a nice print out of all there adjustments of what the alignment was before you went in there and then after

He is the first one to tell you about how great he is and how long he has been doing things.

Phew... kinda good to know I wasn't the only one that felt that way.

RrCoX22.. yah, we've gone to that one quite a few times in the past, may just have to swing by there and see what they quote me next time I'm doing a parts run for our Barracuda.

Well guys. I quess we all have our own experiences. I've been going to Northstar for 8 years now. First with 2000 and now the 2007. Would not take my vette anywhere else. They may not be the cheapest around but they take care of your car and do it right the first time. My two cents.

well i give dave a HUGE thumbs down on business to customer skills. i once walked in there asking to get a couple of estimates on a few things and he starts praising himself like he is on some kind of pedistool. I mean just out of no where he was rude, disrespectful and seems to think he is the almighty god... eventually we got on the subject of how i built my last camaro and was going to be running TFS 215cc heads before I totalled it out... his first response was that those are the sh!tist heads he as ever seen on the market... that AFR's are god's gift to him, well there's plenty of evidence to prove him wrong.... also said the oil pressure sending unit hit the fan and his first response was how you gonna fix that? proeceeded to tell him I can change it out... then he started asking me the torque specs and everything for that swap? are you fuggin serious? asking me "in a cocky manner" the torque specs?

would never take my car to Northstar or recommend anyone there for quality service... they may "know" corvettes but their service is straight downward and "F" for the $$$$

I've always really liked Custom Alignment in Mountain View, but that won't help you if you really want to stay close to home...
