Default Anyone in Sacramento area with stock LS1 & Corsa Pace Cars?

I'm looking to change out my Corsa Titanium because it has a little drone 1000-1500 and I'm very sensitive to it (migraine trigger.)

I still want something that is pretty uproarious at high revs, but nearly silent in stop and go traffic. In other words, if I'm under 3000 rpm, I *dont* want to hear it.

I'd appreciate taking a ride and listening to someones car (especially a six speed) that is otherwise stock. Even better if you have a bassani x-pipe.

Thanks.

I have an almost stock LS1 with Corsa Pace Cars, no X-Pipe (Z06 H-Pipe). By almost stock I mean I only have done a CAI and a Predator tune. Also it's a convertible. If you want to meet and go for a ride we can do that.

As far as I know all Corsa's have a slight drone in the 1000 to 1500 range. First time I experienced it I thought a helicopter was going to land on me. It was loud. I have never experienced it since, I usually drive in the 1500 to 2000 range.

Come to MSI in Roseville, every Saturday morning there's coffee and donuts, and lots of Corvettes and owners to talk to.

Hmn, so maybe it isn't just my Corsa Titanium exhaust that does it. I do a lot of driving in the 1000-1500 range.

I can usually avoid it, but in stop and go traffic I pretty much have to listen to it when I take off.

Unless i'm just driving the car completely wrong and shouldn't be taking off at ~1200 rpm.

But I'd like to be able to use 6th gear at less than 70mph.

I shift into 6th above 57 MPH and have no problem with the resonance. I think the owners manual gives guidelines as to when to shift into a lower gear, if I remember correctly shifting from 6th to 5th was recommended at 57 MPH. When I did get the resonance I was in Death Valley cruising in 6th and going up a hill. The caravan slowed down then sped up again, I did not downshift and when I got back on the gas it scared me and I actually stuck my head out the window to see where the Huey was. My rpm's had dropped to the 1200 range, that coupled with going up a steep hill caused the loud resonance.

Kale,

I agree about going out to MSI on a Saturday morning. There are enough cars out there to hear about every exhause made. When I hade my 99FRC I ended up with the GHLs after listening to the various ones. Loved the sound and I don't remember any drone, although I tend to carry 5th gear until 70mph.

Maybe the solution is nastier gearing then, and not a different exhaust system. I used shift into 6th at 60mph.. Now I do at 65mph, and downshift to 5th if I have to touch the gas - to avoid the bottle-blowing resonance sound.

Though when I take off, I usually go at ~1400rpm, car drops to 1200, it humms loudly until 1600.

50 4Ever, will you be there this saturday? I'd definitely like to take a ride in your car.

Change gears = big $$$$$$

Change catback = $700 (http://sfbay.craigslist.org/sby/pts/598832491.html )

I plan on it, I usually get there a little after 9AM. I'll be the only vert there with a chrome rollbar.
