Default New Paint

Just picked up my car from the shop today,Fresh paint on the bumper and fender.Do you guys think its too early to make backroad runs with that fresh paint.....stone chips

thinking of making that driving skill run on 03/09/08.I haven't driven the car hard for almost 2 weeks and now I'm really itchy

Should I wait couple more days

Give it a couple months before the clear bra or it will kill the fresh paint. The paint needs to "breathe" for a few weeks before putting anything over it. Any good painter or body shop will tell you the same thing. I would hold off on the runs or stay back from the other cars. The paint is too soft and will surely take a beating.

Good call Richie, I forgot to mention that the paint needs to cure for 30 days I was told That's what I waited

Hey it was good to meet you today Shalen! Your ride looked and sounded great! Hopefully it won't take too much of a beating if you go on that run. If you go just try to hang back so your nice new paint doesn't get sand blasted

Just stay behind the Miatas, you'll be fine. Unless you can't stay behind them.

Leave alot of room in front of you and the next car and you should be fine - just dont follow a Z06 or Viper... those wide tires kick up so many rocks.

Hey Shalen, definitely don't follow Mike! Ask me how I know!! Like some of the others said, keep a good distance behind the guy in front of you, and you should be fine.
