I know this is a tech question...but, I would really like to hear from members locally.
I took my car to the dealership just down the street from my workplace and asked them to replace a tire pressure sensor. I was getting the xxx for my right front sensor. I assumed the battery in the sensor had died and asked them to put a new sensor in. I also asked that they reprogram the rear sensors because when my tires were installed the rims were swapped thus my right and left rears were reading opposite of where the tires were located.
Today, I am driving my car and my DIC gives me the error for the tire sensors. I check which sensor is not reading correctly and find out all four sensors are now showing xxx. It was too late to take it to the dealership today. Any thoughts as to what would cause this? I'd like to hear from some of you before I take it to the dealership in the morning.
Mike,
I would get all 4 of them re-programmed. You can have this done any where that has the TPS tool. Discount Tires, Big O, they all have them and normally do not charge to reset them. If you take a ride out to Fairfield RichieRichZ06 at Woodard Chevy I'm sure will help you out.
The reset procedure calls for all 4 to be reset one not one or two. You have to start with the front driver side, then front pass, rear pass and rear driver side. Once in the learning mode the horn will toot at each one and a double toot on the last one. It takes about 1 min to do all four.
