I've read here and there about "save the wave", and how vette owners wave to each other. However, out of maybe 15 C5s I've seen in the last week, only 2 have waved.
Do *you* wave? Are C5s being diluted by nonenthusiasts who aren't aware of the "wave"?
Just a quick poll. Perhaps there's some waving etiquette I'm not fully aware of..
I got more waves when I drove my girlfriend's Mini Cooper S! (something I'm not proud to admit.. haha. Perhaps I'll wear a brown paper bag next time.)
I saw another thread similiar to this , the last couple of days...but anyway, yea I do the wave and normally see it sent back, probably 5% don't,....maybe the sun is in their eyes....so it's strong here in Eastern WA....
Speaking of which.. I saw a *beautiful* white C1 yesterday driving down Montague expressway. Granted, he was going the opposite way, but I waved and was left hanging. My aching heart! (Drowning sorrows with alcohol)
I see C3s all the time. Usually I don't get the return wave from them, I figure they are probably the third or fourth owner of the car and have no idea what they have. The C1s and C2s, to own one of those, you need to be an enthusiast, so they know what they have. The C4s are also falling into the same category as the C3s.
Of course this doesn't mean everyone. Just a small subset.
BTW, my numbers have changed....you'll get a chance to see my new numbers on the 15th.

Gee Im a 3rd owner... Im a C3.....But I always give the wave. Even when im in the big brown truck I give the wave.
I wave whenever I see other vettes. I get a lot more waves from the C5's and C1, C2, and C3 drivers. C4's (nothing personal guys, this does not apply to people on the corvette forum obviously) rarely wave. It seems that they are in the low point of their history where they are cheap and a lot of non-car enthusiat types buy them to "own a vette".
And since I have the flame suit on anyway, most women seem kind of oblivious unless they or their significant others are "in the know" with regards to the wave. Again this does not apply to those lovely females that are on the forums, as obviously you are enthusiasts
