Default Can't get response from Advanced Dyno over two weeks

I've been leaving email and voice messages for the last two weeks for Robert @ Advanced Dyno and my calls and emails haven't been returned. They started building an LS2 shortblock for me back in August, and I'm looking for an update and feedback on the parts I bought for the motor.

Below are my email questions, I also left a few voicemails on his cell phone and office phone.

Subject: How's the LS2?

Hi Robert,

I haven't been able to get a hold of you the last two weeks, you must be very busy or sick. I left lots of messages for you.

How is the LS2 and when can I pick it up? Could you email the cam specs? Could you tell me how I'll connect the knock sensors?

I bought a Comp Cams 921 spring kit for it the LS3 heads, and I'm replacing the hollow stem valves with solid Stainless Manley valves.

Bill

Hi Robert,

Your voicemail is full.

What were the specs on the old cam? What are your thoughts on it?

I bought a Comp Cams 921 spring kit for it the LS3 heads, and I'm replacing the hollow stem valves with solid stem valves according to advice from Richard at WCCH. I'm thinking I can upgrade to stainless valves when it's rebuild time.

When can I pickup the shortblock?

Bill

What's the cost difference between SD and MAF tunes?

I'm curious as to what level of horsepower you think we should go for. I have 75lb injectors, dual fuel pumps, aeromotive filter and regulator, 8an lines to the rails, Melrose headers and cats (Z06 mufflers), 8-rib setup and capable of 18psi boost, FLP level 5 transmsission and Vigilante converter, the LS2 shortblock, LS3 heads, L76 manifold, LS2 90mm throttle body. I'm thinking after I install the shortblock and get everything running, I'll tow it up and drop it off for a few days so you can check it out. Then we can post the results to LS1Tech and Corvetteforum.

Bill

Damn this is very uncharacteristic of Robert...I saw him this past weekend at the Solano Auto X..he seemed well and enjoying his runs on the track with the ZO6 he bought from a forum member.
Hopefully he'll respond to you soon...

Robert is around. I have been able to call the past few weeks and have been able to get ahold of him. It's kind of hit or miss with the amount of work they have going on up there..usually mike answers the phone though.

Hey Bill

I just got home from curch right now and noticed this, I did get a message from Kyle today to call you as I was rolling out the door.

I have been planning a trip to San Diego to tune 13 GTOs this weekend and has been a hectic week, I am at the shop right now porting 4 throttle bodies to take with me and should be done in about two hours. I am driving down in a few hours and will be back Tuesday afternoon.

I will have one of the guys email the cam specs from the shop tomorrow to you and we should be ready for pick up on next Saturday when I get back

Thanks Robert, let me know what the status is on the shortblock. Last I heard one of the Diamond pistons was replaced and it was to be rebalanced a few weeks ago. I could really use some feedback to my questions since I had to buy springs and valves after I bought the LS3 heads - in hindsight I could've saved a few bucks by buying bare L92 heads and Patriot Gold duals.

I was looking forward to installing the motor before my car-fanatic father-in-law arrived from overseas at the beginning of the month, he's leaving at the end of this month. Last time he was here, I drove home with the newly installed TSP motor which blew on the way home. All he got to do was attempt to 'blow the carbon out' of the stuttering motor after it stumbled home. Getting the car running this month would help out with household politics and fending off suggestions on what to do with the broken vette.

This is great to hear Robert for a company that's been in business for less than a year. Sounds more like business than R&R!
Congrats

Hey Robert, please remind someone to email the cam specs.

Saturday - you mean 10/20 or the following Saturday 10/27 ? I started making plans to pick it up tomorrow, and don't want to get ahead of myself like when put plans in motion at home to pick it up on 9/30. I hoped to get it running early this month and get some road time on it while my father-in-law is around, and he flys back to Prague 11/4.

I know that he is in Dan Diego tuning GTOs and will not be back in town until Tuesday night the 23rd. I do not know anything about your car, but I thought that may help.

Thanks Richie. I'm a bit disappointed because I talked to Robert about the need to have the motor finished and tuned in the beginning of October.

The in-laws don't fly out but every 2 years, and the car wasn't running the last two visits (including this visit). From their perspective I might as well set it on fire and get a nice reliable european car.

I have often thought the same thing. I almost dumped a few gallons of 110 on it and started it on fire last month.

I know the feeling as well. All I gotta say is that it's worth the wait. I just got my car back about two weeks ago after it was sitting at Roberts for over two months (due to TSP taking a long time to ship my parts). When I got it back I had some more issues and had to take it back due to a crack in m brand new head. I finally got it back and the wait was worth it. You won't even think of any other car once yours is running right. By the way, your car is in good hands, seems like Roberts been a bit more swamped than usual, but he's a stand up guy and will turn your car into a monster. Good luck with everything...

Thanks guys for the support. I felt way worse after the 35mile TSP mailorder motor fiasco. They sold me on Mahle high silicon pistons for a high boost motor before I discovered the difference between 4032 and 2618 piston alloys. Each time I mention that those guys attack me like dogs - boneheaded motor skills and boneheaded customer relations.

btw - I'm still waiting on the cam specs - I don't know who to ping on that.

I was rushing to get the shortblock, heads and fuel system done, but anyway it looks like it won't be running this month. I brought my visitor to Laguna Seca so we could get our car fix during his visit. Looks like it's time to slow down my spending.
