Default Going to smog with Long Tube's: Any comments?

So I'm going to put a catalytic converter back under the vette and take it down to get smogged.
Anyone wanna venture a guess as to what part of the test I'll fail?
I say I'll pass the sniffer with flying colors, but fail visual...I just don't know what PART I'll fail because all emissions equipment is there and 100% functional. (My headers are 49-state legal)

Hopefully I even get the smog tech's to scratch their head and say "I'm failing you..but I don't know why these headers aren't smog legal."

Good luck. The Naz*fornia laws suck when it comes to this stuff.

I know I'll fail visual...but I just want them to wonder why..when it blows CLEAN on the sniffer...
I guess I'll fail the part that says "Other emission equipment"...
I really don't care as my headers are sold, I just want to stick it in their face that it won't blow any cleaner with the stock manifolds back on...

For what? My catalytic converter is there...
I passed before without precats, so I'm SURE they don't know what they are...

I failed last month with my LT's and HF cats. I think it is my tune though. Not trying to spend another $350 to go slower. HAHA

You'd think some header company would certify long tubes for cars that didn't come with precats, like my 99. Someday

I was looking through my email and found that auto anything has California approved set of headers for my 95 (long tube) you might check into it.

Did you move your cats any? That is the reason why we can put long tubes on the C5.

I don't have them on my C4 I just found them today on a email ad from auto anything, They are arb approved, don't know about the cats, I will check into the headers a little deeper and let you know.

I checked the add one more time, the photo showers long tubed headers but down in the description it said shorty header my bubble has been popped

I like how they say:

JBA Cat4ward Header

Installation requires modification to exhaust system.
For off-road use only. This product is not emissions legal.

CYA...

Off roading a Vette...

I..P..

I just want them to wonder why they aren't smog legal, LOL.
ESPECIALLY when it'll blow CLEAN on the sniffer (hell, probably below average!)

You might be OK - a lot of smog techs don't see under vette hoods much and don't know what's supposed to be there anyway. They may just look at the LT's and think "WoW, is that what they look like, nice." I know some Viper guys and that's what most smog techs think about them too.
