While picking up some parts for my resto project, at the Pick-N-Pull on Commercial. I stumbled across a 1954 Ford. It is a 4 door, and in almost decent shape. It has some very minor surface rust, but the real killer is the V8. As a guess it is a 292, and looked from the exterior to be in really good shape. I did not see any oil leaks, everything was there. It was amazing, to me this car ended up there.
Somebody, someplace in this world is probably desperate to have that engine. Just thought I would psot in case somebody an use it.

I used to own a 54 Ford coupe, my 2nd car ever. The stock engine is 239 CID, which the one you saw probably is.

"Stack Ports" are still around, but a good core is certainly worth something. E-bay is the wrong place for it, though. Try these guys:

Bet they could scare up someone that needs it!

Thanks for the memory lane, Steve, my first car just before HS grad was a 239 54 Ford Tudor with 3 speed on the column. It didn't last too
long even after I replaced the clutch. Kids can be hard on old iron ...

The rods in those early ones were thin as spagetti noodles with big 'ole heavy cast pistons, and if you were fool enought over-rev 'em, ventilation holes started to appear in random locations! 312's were quite a bit better and made good power, but that was one heavy engine! The SB chevy with it's lightweight construction doomed them, and Ford didn't have a competetive engine again (at least a small block) 'till the 260-289 came along.
