As far as I know your OK in Connecticut. I think there is a website someplace that lists all the states where detectors are illegal. Maybe someone here will know where that site is.

I was pretty sure that radar detectors are illegal in CT, but........

Looks like you're all set!! Enjoy yourself in New England.

Thanks to everyone for their assistance. Hopefully I will see some nice rides on the New England highways. Remember it is not winter yet. Drive them while you still can.

Never stopped me before, we've gone on some nice cruises on a day with snow. I have videos. but it is hard to see the snow.
I will be visiting the Northeast and was wondering if there are any state(s) that it is illegal to use a radar detector in.
Will be in NJ, NY, CT, RI and MA.
Thanks in advance.
Detectors are legal in all those states. I believe they were illegal at one time in CT, but not anymore. Also, CT State Police use a lot of laser - I found the hard way.
NY State Troopers, at least from what I've seen, use the laser a lot on the major highways. I've encountered a lot of "instant on" radar too being used by the troopers.

Down here as well. Lots of speed traps everywhere in the burbs, westchester and Long Island.
Will be flying out tonight arriving around 1:30 in the morning. Will be staying in New Jersey until Monday. We will most likely visit New York City during the weekend. Then traveling up to Boston for a few days during the week. Then back to NJ for a couple of days.
Any recommendations on Great food or places to visit while I am up there.

If you're going down a highway and start getting K band stronger and stronger it is probably going to be an orange highway construction sign. The state started outfitting these things with radar to help confuse motorists into thinking a trooper was nearby.
