Looking for my old 2003 c5 z06. Car is easily noticable. I am looking to buy the car back from the current owner. Have been looking for this car for a few years. Here is pictures from the dealership that had it 5 years ago. I will pay a premium for my car back.

Good luck with it!

If you still have the VIN, you could likely find out the registered owner and send them a letter through the mail…

I highly doubt that. With today's privacy laws good luck finding anything more than what state it was titled in and the date.

How about a CarFax? Should narrow down the location somewhat.

That might help. I was thinking in terms of the NMVTIS.

I’m kind of going through the same thing with a 73 convertible I sold last April...Owned the car for 19 years before I sold it...Actually after I sold it I saw it on fbook marketplace two months later for a 5,000 increase in price that I sold it for..

Two weeks after sale the new owner told me he put about $ 1,500 into it after purchase...Even still ...I mean even if you get close to asking price what’s your profit ? 3,000 ?....Convertible stingrays in nice shape are hard to come by...

Usually when you look at a car on fbook and it later sells it usually tells you if it sold or not...

Have not reached out to the new owner and most likely when it comes down to it, won’t...Just think once the cars in someone else’s hands it won’t have the same feel of ownership....

Vettes are way up in price....They will only come down.....There will be a lot of C5 Z’s to choose from...

I made the same mistake and was advised by community not to sell, lesson learned. 2006 bolt-ons 405rwhp, and it ran great even with 147k of my original miles

In my situation it got to be a pain leaving one Vette on the street and having the other in the garage ...I would park the 73 on the steeet from March through October under a cover...

The other months it stayed in my mothers yard covered...I would go every few weeks and start it and take it for a short drive...She lived a distance away though..

Iin my neighborhood in Brooklyn there are blocks of multi million dollar homes where it’s very quiet and always many spots....Believe it or not I did that for seven years while my ZR1 stayed in the garage ....

I would leave it covered for all that time but the problem was alternate side parking Wed and Friday ....I would also leave the top down and just cover the car like that...I can’t believe all those years nobody messed with it...Then again nobody messed with stuff in that neighborhood back then if you know what I mean.

Garage space was too pricey....You figure 200-300 a month each month for seven years ?? It would cost me more than what the car sold for..

Living in crowded areas has many drawbacks for car enthusiasts...Number one being space..

As somebody once said - "If you can't pee off your front porch any time you want to, your neighbors live too close" There's a garage corollary for that somewhere.
