Maryland People! Trustworthy/Honest Corvette mechanic in Baltimore county?
Howdy fellow Marylanders.
I just recently got my first C5.
Anyone have a honest mechanic they take their Vettes to? I have a BMW mechanic I like but he is extremely busy. I live in north Bmore county (close to PA line and 83) but willing to go to Harford or Carroll County for a good person.
Thanks y’all 👍👍👍👍

I wanted to find someone to do the "antivenom" mod, check the ac drains or the ac box/drains under the glove box (I checked the upper rain udders myself and they were clean) because I'm having condensation drip on the passenger floor mat when the a/c is on. Also I think it's due for it's 80k 'maintenance' soon. I have sciatica so it really sucks trying to work on cars at all now.
You can PM me if you don't want to name drop here. I was considering taking it to Hunt Valley Autoworks/Phoenix Auto or Ed Murphy's on York Rd in Cockeysville area since they seem to be highly rated online. Willing to drive to Carroll or Harford County too. Thanks!

Good afternoon,
I also am interested in someone local and live in Carney (very close to Fork), just received my 2014 C7 and need a good mechanic who can also perform a state inspection.
Please advise if your mechanic is looking for additional customers.
Thanks in advance!

Hi!
I'm still looking for a shop for my C5. Can you report back on your experience with Gallant? I read that it is under different ownership than in years past.
It's really hard when you're female to find an honest mechanic that won't try to rip you off. I've taken my car to Heritage Chevrolet in Owings Mills back in June for a Active Handling System warning (figured I better go to a dealer and this one came recommended) that turned into a $800 steering wheel position sensor replacement...I was semi-disappointed when I got my car back with a dead battery and a disconnected vacuum hose that was giving me a CEL (that I found myself) after looking around. I was happy he fixed my rear defogger and installed my bronze headlight gears though. So I have mixed feelings about going back there because I'm not really sure if I needed the sensor (they gave me my original and it had no evidence of arcing) and possibly could've been a dying battery causing codes to be thrown. So I'm kinda suspicious of that place now.
Thanks guys

Happy to report Rob is my now go to shop (apparently quite a few other Corvette owners also).
Rob was a long time mechanic prior to purchasing the shop from its original owner.
I think that you will be pleasantly surprised at the personalized service and reasonable (MHO) cost of the work.
Please let us know your thoughts should you chose this option.

Southern Stables Automotive has good reviews but owner seems a little nutty. It's probably a good shop but seems like they're more Ford-specific than GM.
So, I made an appt with Rob at Gallant for next week to get some fluids done to feel out the shop. He was friendly on the phone and seemed chill.
If everything feels right, I will come back to get more stuff done on my list. I definitely want to get new shocks soon...

I know quite a few that take their Vettes to Gallants in Bel Air, can't remember a bad word said about the shop.

I'm happy I decided to log on today and then found this post. I'm looking for someone reputable and I'm not far from Bel Air, so I'll have to look into Gallants.
