NJ Private Inspection Facilities
Curious if anyone can recommend any private inspection facilities in NJ that will overlook off-road xpipe if the OBD2 test all passes?? Thanks in advance and please feel free to PM me if you dont want to post it publicly.

if you still have your cats and 02 sensors then you should be able to pass the state facility, they do a visual on the cats. they don't care about an X pipe.

Ive got headers and no cats in my x-pipe..

I watch them like a hawk when they run my car through.. I've never seen them look under the car nor at any camera. Given I have high flow cats, even so they only plugged in the odb2 and computer says I passed... done and done

So, what happens if you go to a state facility, and they notice you dont have cats... Just fail the inspection and send you on your way... OR???

They slap cuffs on you and shred the car!!
Yes you fail inspection and have 30 days to fix it. If it worries you, just go to a private inspection garage. Just make sure the service light isn't on. I wouldn't even thought about a few years ago but; the inspection laws in NJ have changed a lot. They do check the gas cap.

I tried a random private facility nearby and they failed me after not seeing any cats! I didnt have any CEL/SES lights on either...

If the car failed already, now you have a small problem because the state now knows. I didn't know you went already. On your paperwork it should state what failed. If you are lucky it might just say emissions. Your worse case would be install a cat every two years. I never had a garage look under my car. What made them look under your car??

The cameras are in the slab, they drive over them. the images show on the computer screens they look at.

seriously, you won't feel the power loss from high flow cats, you should have just got them as part of your header set up. You won't get passed inspection without them.
