New Jersey Motorsport Park
SCCA and PCA (Porsche Club of America) rent out the facility ... why not Corvettes? I would imagine there would be plenty would would be interested in a few laps around the track. Those who are not interested in lap time would likely be interested in a picnic, meet-n-greet, show-n-shine, etc.

We're all familiar with Toys For Tots run to Kerbeck (October). What about something in the spring / summer time? Perhaps Kerbeck could arrange a visit of a few GM prototype vehicles. If Kerbeck can handle the HUGE Toys for Tots in the fall, I am sure they could handle CF in the spring / summer.

I'd find very useful some type of Learn & Tune event, where those of us with little problems ( or slightly bigger ones) can learn from the experienced folks, be it on driving, equipment or fixes for mechanical issues.

How about a caravan to help out the people and especially from what I understand the many firefighters that lived in the 100 or so houses that burned in NYC during "Sandy". Get people to sponsor you like they do for other charities.

Children
Gather all the Corvettes we can........have special need children/children with needs of other sorts.....have them ride in the passengers side and donate $1.00 per mile......all the proceeds go to needed organizations.....we win....the kids wins....

Advanced
Mile Event
It would be great to find a place in the North East that a "Mile Event" could be ran (Like the Texas Mile). Maybe by combining it with a fund raiser for Wounded Warriers we could get access to a runway like the old Westover base ins Mass.

A couple of New England Region Ideas
A. Expanding on Bills Idea for a Auto Cross event. An Auto cross event would very good because they are based off safety and all calibers of drivers can attend. If there was to be a Event in New England, I would recommend collaborating with Bay State Corvette they run several Auto Cross events through out the year.
B. Also a Corvette Forum Dyno day at a local shop would be a good idea. BBQ at the shop, car talk, Car show. Slowhawk Performance puts on a dyno day once a year and has a BBQ and dyno pulls all day its a very fun day for all involved.
C. Also the club could setup up a Road Rally Event
"If you like automobiles and scenic drives in the country, chances are you will like RoadRally. The basic idea behind most types of RoadRally events is the same... each participating team, consisting of a driver and a navigator, is given a set of written instructions which are used to follow a pre-determined course. Each team drives the course independently, following the written instructions that they have been given."
D. Also an event of this caliber would incredible to pull off.

how about for next year, a bunch of the corvette owners on this forum come to the SCCA Northern NJ region autocross races hosted at the Meadowlands (Giants/Jets stadium) Lot E. The lap times are fast, tecnical and long. You won't be disappointed in out events.

Since this would be a regional event, I'd think half of those attending would be victims of Sandy as well (I know I am). That aside, the event would have to happen almost immediately ... then you are faced with trying to figure out what to do with the money. About the only place for $ right now, is the American Red Cross. I am not aware of any agency collecting funds for those impacted by Sandy.

Alot of people talk about car shows, drag races, road courses. What about an event that incorporates all of that and a drifitng competition/training? I think drifitng legally in a Vet all day would be a blast. Beaver Run Motorsports Facitilty would be a close place for alot of people and can accomodate all of these activities at the same time. Just my 2 cents?

Hello everybody,
What about the a game where you drive to certain checkpoints along a scenic route and at every checkpoint you get a playing card. At the end destination you turn your cards in and who ever has the best hand at whatever card game we are playing wins a grand prize. I figure something to the idea of performance parts, accessories, or nice sum gift cards. At the finish line, West Point Virginia track, there could be venders, car clubs, and other similar organizations set up. A portion of the money brought in could also be donated to a charity voted on by the registered drivers. Just an idea. Thanks
