Default Stolen LPE Center Cap Sellersville Pa

Last Friday afternoon I parked my Vette in Sellersville Pa for about an hour. Someone stole the center cap off of my front left wheel. They are John Ligenfelter Series HRE wheels. The color of the center cap is red, white and blue.

The problem is the caps are no longer made and I am unable to purchase a replacement.

I would appreciate a heads up if anyone spots a cap like this. I’ve never run into anyone locally on the street or at a car show with wheels like mine so if you see one it is probably from my car.

It's probably a kid. They steal items like this to make belt buckles. I hope you can find a replacement.

No doubt some kid is wearing it around his neck right now.

I am really sorry to hear this, people really suck. Good luck finding a replacement.

Just a thought..................

My guess is you parked that beauty in a pretty safe spot, making it difficult for some miscreant to be down by your wheel with something on hand to pry that off. Certainly possible, and indeed may have happened. But if people were around, either the person had huge b%lls, or was real stupid, or both, or VERY lucky!

My point.

Although it is the drivers side, might it have come off on some bump you hit on the way to your destination? Do you recall any such event?
A driveway or entrance?
Might be worth backtracking on your route that day, or trying lost and found. While you would certainly notice it missing while walking up to the car, you just might not notice it missing while walking away from it when you parked.

Thought it worth mentioning.
And if it was stolen..........
Maybe they used paint with lead in it on that cap, and the creep wearing it will soon die from lead poisoning!

Hope something turns up, as that is, as you surmise, awfully hard to replace!

Good luck!

Marty

That sucks if it was stolen. You may just have to buy 4 new ones of a different style or unpainted. If you need the new ones painted check with Autobuffs.

Did you park where they have cameras?
IF so, maybe they'd let you look at the tapes.

Why would you initially think it was stolen?
