Visiting my daughter this Sunday on the Island, I want to stop by this town/place called Captree. I hear lots of vettes and other show cars meet up there in the morning, but I don't know how to get there.
I'm coming down from Throggs Neck Bridge.

Or, if you get there around 9:30 am the early birds are already leaving, cars & bikes come and go most of the morning.
I'm not sure if they are still collecting money at Captree, if they are the cars & bikes will be at the Oak Beach parking lot which is one parking lot west of Captree on the south side of Ocean Pkwy.

You will see both parking lots on the map. Captree is at the very end of Ocean Pkwy.

Yeah, Captree/OBI is starting to get old. Last week when I got there I had to sneak in. (Drove in real close to the car in front of me). Then a state trooper decided to cruise through the lot so I had a couple of people stand in front of my car and block the bumper. There were cars on tow trucks and I had to sneak out when they were busy.

How bad are the police. I have a CT license with Florida plates on the vette and my 8 year in front with no booster seat (but with lap belt).

During the summer months they meet in the parking lot at Oak Beach because Captree is a State Park that charges for parking during the season.
Follow the rules and you won't have a problem. The deal is that the lot where they gather is at the only exit/entrance to a beachfront community and the residents aren't happy about it. They complain to the police, and the police have to do something about it. If you park legally, drive sanely, and your car is in order you won't have a problem.
I avoid it because I choose not to put a front plate on my car and don't want the hassle. Plus, you need to get there way too early to get a legal parking spot.
The guys that get tickets or get towed are the guys who park on the grass, park in such a way that they block traffic, go down there with no front plate, or commit other violations.
The people who speed along the road coming and going and / or do burnouts there bring a little too much negative attention to the place too.
Things get a little better in late Ooctober when they move the Sunday morning gathering back to Captree. You still need to obey the rules, but the lot is much bigger and it is a lot easier to get a spot.
