Lt. Mark Dooley 5k - Wilmington, VT - 9/19/09 - Some Vette owners able to join?

Hi all,
I have been helping to organize this event to honor the sacrifice of my friend, Lt. Mark Dooley who was KIA in Ar Ramadi, Irag on 9/19/2005, as well as all of our men and women in uniform. Mark was a graduate of Norwich University, a police officer in the town of Wilmington, and had grown up in Walkill, NY before moving to VT. Mark's family as well as many other families of fallen soldiers will be joining us.

This is the first year of this race, and although the structure for the event has come together, we have not attracted the number of participants we were hoping for.

I am reaching out to the Corvette community for help:
We would like to have more runners & walkers registered. The weather looks fantastic for a drive up that day, so if you can make it we would love to have you. I would personally love to have a number of Corvettes there for this "Made in USA" minded crowd to oogle.

The race starts at the Molly Stark State Park, and there are camp sites available (book via their website: http://www.vtstateparks.com/htm/mollystark.cfm. There are also a number of hotels, motels and B&B's in the area since it is in the shadow of Mt. Snow.

Any takers? Let me know and I can rope off a section of parking area. It'd be great if there were some services/USA themed vettes. Maybe a warmup for the Vettes to Vets trip?
