Computer related question.
Maybe one of you guys can help me. When I try to save a pic from forum or anywhere else I get the following choices when I "save as", ART or bitmap (bmp). BMP gives me no pic, just characters and the art is terrible. How come I don't have choices like JPEG or Gif. Any input is appreciated.

When you find a picture you want right click on it with your mouse.
Click on save picture as
It will default to what ever type you have associated with the file name (don't sweat this)
Type in a file name and below the file name, you will see a drop down list.
Drop the list and click on jpeg or jpg or something like that.
Now the file should add the .jpg exentsion to it. You should be golden.
If you have trouble, IM me and I will give you phone to call me.

I guess I'm using AOL, but I don't get the selections. All I get is BMP and Art. On my other computer I use to get a whole bunch of diff file types to choose from.

Mark, it sounds like the picture you are trying to save was created in the .art format. Internet Explorer will only give you two choices when saving a file:
1. the original format the file was created in (jpg, gif, art, etc.)
2. .BMP
For example, try and do a "save as" on my sig pic. You should get a choice of .jpg, or .bmp.
If you would like to save that .ART file as a .jpg, gif, or bmp, it's easy:
1. right click the picture you want to save
2. click "copy"
3. open Paint (go to the start menu, programs, accessories, paint)
4. in Paint, click "edit", then "paste"
5. the picture will now appear in Paint, click "file," then "save as"
You should now have the choice to save your file as .jpg, .gif, or .bmp.
Hope this helps.

Yup hes right. If you have good quality photo program like corel or adobe illustrator you can save any pic from the web and the software will open it always and then you can save it in any format you like.
I say good quality software because you always have like 10 different formats to choose from.
