Default Club Corvette of CT annual Vette show

The annual Club Corvette of CT Vette show was today. These guys put on an outstanding show. They work hard and it shows. But at the end of the day they drop the ball. Year after year they seem to routinely run short of judges. The success of the show of this type is how the participants feel they are judge. How they feel determines if they will return again next year. I watched a few of judging teams in action, they are over worked. Somehow this Club with 300 plus member needs to increase their judging teams. Putting the burden to judge on such a few is not fair to the judges or the participants. This year they had an outstanding turnout. But an observation was that they had a lot of new participants but and not a lot of returning car owners. To me this is an indication that previous years participants did not feel the judging was adequate and did not return. If Club Corvette of CT wants to continue to hold successful events they need to increase the number of judging teams or they will loose the Corvette base they have nurtured over the years.

Again, the show was terrific. Just feel bad for the few judges that worked so hard to salvage the show.

Notable about the judges being spread thin......but how can you account for higher number of participants this year and not a lot of previous participants attend.

I am seriously thinking it is time for me to join.
You ain't getting any younger and looking at you working that judging field it was obvious you need help.

This was my first Club Corvette show and the first judged show I attended, so I have no real basis for comparison. I congratulate all the organizers, judges and workers who worked very hard on a hot day, most of whom I'm sure were there long before most particpants arrived and long after most everyone left. Judging seemed to run a bit behind schedule, but given what many folks remarked as an extraordinary turnout, I think it was within reason. I'll be back if the good Lord's willing and the sun shines.
