Carlisle problem....

I plan on going to the Corvette show this year and im running into a problem that maybe you guys can help me out with....i was wondering if anybody knew of a hotel or motel out there that would let an 18 year old make reservations...I hate being so young...i really wanna make it this year but if i cant get a reservation then im kinda screwed...I just want a room with 2 bed cause im bringing a buddy of mine...thanks so much for any help...

You have a bigger problem then being 18. Carlisle rooms have been booked for 10 months now. Not likely you would find an available room no matter what your age............

i dont need to be right up in the action....ill drive some distance as long as its like 4 hours away...i just want a hotel room with in an hour drive...

How did the issue of your age come up when you tried to book a room over the phone? All you need is a credit card. We book our rooms in Carlisle before we leave the previous year. You can call around Carlisle and ask them to put you on a waiting list. There are many cancellations and some rooms open up.

Also who ever makes the reservation has to be the one to check in.

There are plenty or rooms available about 15 mins from Carlisle!
Do a search for the surrounding towns and there you go!
There is no need to be right in the thick of things!

As for the age thing...that may be a problem

Oh to be 18 again and know what I know now... don't rush it! Some day you'll be 40 and wish you were 18 again.

The others are right - finding a room is going to be a bigger issue. Google hotels in the Carlisle area or go on Orbitz...

Include Harrisburg, Middletown (of Three Mile Island fame), and Highspire in your search - they are an easy jump on to I76 over to the fairgrounds. You can also find more mom and pops, especially in the Middletown and Highspire area.

Use Superpages.com and enter MOTEL and Highspire, PA. Then when the results come up, click on "local only" to get rid of all the ads. You'll find quaint places like Hollywood Motel, and Starlight Motel - I can't guarantee that they will be the best accomodations, but they won't have the same booking rules that Sheraton does. You can try other local towns as well - try to stick near that 283-I76 corridor from just east of the Susquehanna river to a little west of Carlisle to find these little places.
