It was a good time last year
BUT
I have one issue that makes me not want to go back !

Last year there was a person with a Green Zr1 who had his car in the judged show and parked next to me
He spent all day cleaning his car with a toothbrush ( in street class)
Then proceeds to put on a yellow Judge shirt and go around and judge all the cars
And no one was really looking at his car But he wins first place
There were more than 10 cars in the at class ( never mind mine) that were 10 x better than his and cleaner
I thought that if you were a member of the club that is putting on the show and a judge. That you could not put your car in the judged part of the show?
These are the this that keep me from going to allot of these shows
All the : like this.
And i have been spreading the word about this one !
I hope that it is not like that this year !

Bill, I know who you are talking about. He is NOT a member of Corvettes United...rather, he was a volunteer judge, and that is not unusual at all for judged shows. No one club has enough members who are qualified to judge; therefore, the host club usually asks for volunteers who are experienced. I judge at most of the shows I attend because I've been doing it for years. The only restriction is that you cannot judge your own class, naturally.

I hope that one situation doesn't keep you, and others, from attending this unique show and all of the other judged shows throughout New England.

:I agree: Ditto on the post! Same thing with me and other people I was with. One in particular actually had his car as the feature story in Hemmings the next month! He got squat! Not even an honable mention. It was who you "knew" plain and simple. Other cars that were "right out of the dealerships " also won. Hummmm??? I'll still go this year because it is a good cause, and to support Bill L. and his ongoing cancer fund raiser. This better be done fair this year or alot of folks will be going to the beach this time next year.

I said this before in this thread, and I'll continue to say it...this show is NOT a participants choice (though we do have that class for those who don't want to enter a judged show). It is a judged show, using a modified Concours type of judging. Each car will be judged for its cleanliness and condition...not who owns the car!!! There will be two people (one Corvette, one Mustang) as a judging team so any differences of opinion will be resolved between them. It is as fair a system as you can get. "Who you know" is more associated with participants choice shows.
