Got a minute?
So this morning I decide to go over my cruise just to make sure I didn't leave anything out. Everything is good. I have spots picked out to regroup so we all stay together. Stopped by the restaurant to make sure Shermon has a table by the kitchen, Charlie sits with Old-Guy so they can argue who has more friends, asked the owner to hide the dog from George, set up a table so Bob can sell ECS shirts and checked out the waitresses to see if they meet Alex's approval.
I picked out a spot near a bridge that crosses the river where we can watch the people rafting down the Delaware. I was thinking about water ballons, but it might be too late.
Ok, the rest of the ride home was uneventful until I was on the Bronx River Pkwy and all of a sudden I get "Service Traction Control" "Check ABS" the two little icons are showing on the dashboard. DAMN...NOW WHAT? When I get home I try to clear the codes, but can't. I disconnect the battery for an hour, no good. It's 100 degrees in my garage but I have to try something. I jack up the rear and check and clean the plug for the ABS unit. (1997 and early 98 had the ABS Unit in the back) Still get the codes....Start taking each wheel off and checking and cleaning the ABS plugs that go to each wheel bearing. Get done with the two rear wheels and pull the left front wheel off. There it is, a broken wire going to the wheel bearing. A clip is attached to a bracket for the ABS which became detached and the wire was swinging in the breeze. It must have gotten caught on the tie rod end and pulled apart. Luckily I saved my old wheel bearings, what the hell, they only had about 90,000 miles on them. So while watching Big Brown loose the Triple Crown I changed the wheel bearing.
So when tomorrow comes..........I'm ready to go
that is all

I use to get it once in awhile even with the traction control off, especially if wheel hop was involved. Same thing, I cleared the codes and was good to go......for awhile.

You guys be careful out there tomorrow (young guys help the old guys! ) and enjoy the day. John and I'll see "youse" next Sunday (New York is North, isn't it John?) I'll probably lead ("It's the George Washington Bridge, Right"?)
Sorry to hear the car isn't cooperating with you Bob. Ain't that always the way it goes?
