Default Mid-town Manhattan dinner recommendations?

Gonna be in town on a Thursday night. Looking for something reasonably priced (by Manhattan standards) and reasonably nice. Any type of cuisine open. Knowing that there are a million options, what's the first place that pops into your mind?

Times Square ok too...

Thanks for the recommendations thus far.

My colleague is looking for a more "hip" place. They also mentioned Times Square and Theater District. Any other ideas?

For "hip", try the striphouse, morimoto's, a voche, or Asiate.

a voche is nice and is reasonably priced (by Manhattan standards)

For the best view of times square try the Broadway Lounge at the New York Marriott Marquis.
Shermon did a party at the bar next to it, the view is great, the food was good and reasonably priced.

[QUOTE=SpeedRacerGirl;1564798571]Carmines for Italian

Another vote for Carmine's. Excellent Italian food at very reasonble prices right in the heart of Times Square. Everything is served family style.
We usually eat at the uptown one, but the 44th Street location is just as good.

El Quijote located at the old Chelsea Hotel. The best, most reasonably priced Lobster around, especially if you are a garlic lover.

You have a completely empty credit card and a pocket full of 20's, this place is OK and the food is passable --

Thank you a lot for the recommendations, all! My colleague saw the beef tartare on the Balthazar's menu and wanted to go there. I made a reservation and we're all set!

If you're at that end of town, and with a hot chick, I'd also consider:

One if by Land, Two if by Sea
17 Barrow Street
