My wife Debbie and I, along with some other couples are going to a black tie charity event the friday night before the show opens to the public. It includes, food, open bar, live entertainment and lots of fun. All the cars are opened up and the factory reps are on hand. There's maybe 2500 people there instead of 30,000 during the normal hours. And, the Mariott across the street runs $99/night deals so we are staying over.

I used to feel that way when I walked around most of the displays and thought "why did I pay to come here when I can see these new cars at the dealership?", but it is still cool to see so many new cars in the same place. I always liked to see the Kerbeck exotics (especially the Lambo!). If only you could walk from the Market East station into the convention center without going outside, I'd like it even more.
