Brother,if you don't have a room booked yet,bring a tent!!
Try wyndham harrisburg at hershey 1-703-533-7222.Got that info from my NCOA newsletter.I don;t know if there's any room left but call now and give it a shot! It's really late in the year to do it though!
I have a room in a great hotel 4 miles from the fairgrounds.
Turns out am not going to make it this year. It's for Fri-Sun morning. I havent decided what am going to do with it yet.
As soon as I decided the room is up for grabs.
Does anyone recommend any place over another, especially making reservations this late?
Just keep calling all hotels/motels in the area and take whatever opens up!! You can always cancel the reservation if a better hotel comes along. Take whatever you can get.

Try looking outside of Carlisle. Mechanicsburg has a few hotels, including the Holdiay Inn. The Holiday Inn is expensive but has a great sports bar w/150+ TV's and lots of action on Friday and Saturday nights (if you can stand up after a full day at Carlisle). Besides, driving the vette 10-15 miles in the early morning with others is a great feeling.
i made mine at the holiday inn in january and i got one of the last rooms. we stayed there last year and it was a really cool hotel and legends was a really nice place to hang out on friday evening.

It is about 25 miles, not too bad since you can get on the major highways easy. Going to the show you can hit traffic by the exits and entering the fair grounds depending on the time of day. But that is no differnt no matter where you are staying outside of carlisle.
I have stayed a quite a few over the years....this year Comfort INn mechanicsburg (booked in Feb.), last year Ramada Inn...where ever you can grab a room. Also if you have the means to wait, call about 1 week out or just drive up on Friday...cancellations happen all the time in that last week...have friends that have grabbed rooms on Friday night at the carlisle hotels, intown. Its a gamble.
I am from the Harrisburg area. Driving to Carisle from there is not a big deal. You won't hit traffic until you get close to the fairgrounds. There are tons of hotels in the area. The downtown Hilton is a little expensive; however, it is near some of the popular clubs on 2nd st. There are about 5 or 6 motels in New Cumberland right off the PA Turnpike.
