Any Skiers Out There?
I just want to see if there's any interest.
I'm in North Jersey, and I was wondering if anyone is interested in some kind of CFNE ski trip.
I'm just trying to get a feel for anyone's preference for time, place, etc. So, post up if you prefer:
Personally, I haven't skied in a while, and it's killin' me. I also need to get new equipment.
It will help satisfy the need for speed while the roads are too cruddy to go Corvette-ing.

1) a day trip, or a weekend.

2) the Poconos, Catskills, Green Mountains, etc
I'm thinking sometime after the New Year, but I'm open.- and -

Even if we don't ski, we can put on our ski stuff, and hang at the bar all day!!!

I'd be interested in this. I've always wanted to learn to snowboard. I may be up for either a day or wknd....doesn't matter, as long as the date(s) don't create a conflict for me.

I'm leaning toward a day trip to Hunter Mountain SKi Bowl, the Snowmaking Capital of the World. Maybe a Saturday or Sunday in January?
For those who don't know it:
I've heard people complain about it being crowded, or lift lines. I've skied there for a long, long time, and I don't have any complaints. Then again, I like you guys.
A bad ski day is better than a good work day.
I was also giving some thought to a weekend trip to maybe Killington, or thereabouts.
Let's see how a day trip to Hunter trip goes, and we'll take it from there.
Let's discuss.
For those who don't know it:
- it's between 2 and 2 1/2 hours north of the City. It's fairly accessible to people in NY, NJ, PA, CT, MA, and VT. If we get enough interest from people in one spot, we could maybe rent a bus to haul us up there.
- it has a variety of terrain. So, your level of ability shouldn't be an obstacle for anyone. I've heard their ski school is very good. As Wicked said, they now rent fairly good equipement - not like the old days.
- it has a fun bar. Weather permitting, there's an outdoor bar and a grill. Lots of seating (the old "A" and "B" lift chairs) on the sun deck.
- wherever we go, we bring our own fun.

Nice!
I used to be a regular, but haven't been lately. I need to get back into it.
Sorry for co-opting your idea, but I had the same one - so it must be a good one. I didn't see your post. Where was it?
BTW: What happened to you going to Spring Mountain? I thought you wanted to come. Do you know that we're full now?
No, YOU suck! . . . and your avatar offends me!!
