Default OCTOBER Sunday Lunch in CT

Okay - new idea FINALLY!

Sunday, October 9th

The proprietor of the Cambridge Brew House in Granby, CT has offered to have us. He will provide separate parking for the vettes as well as brew samplers. The lunch menu includes a little something for everyone. There are some fabulous burgers, fish & chips, a popular bbq pulled pork sandwich and huge salads. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating (depending on the weather) and he would like to take a picture of the vettes out front to put on his website.

We would meet there at 11:30, eat, socialize and then for those who wish to do a little road tour - I am working on putting one together that will take us through the windy roads of Granby, into Barkhamsted, around the resevior (there is a turnoff that provides a great view of the lake). From there people will have the option of continuing into Winsted, grabbing Route 8 which heads back towards Danbury CT and NY or heading back into the Farmington Valley then picking up 91 to get home.

Here is the website address for the restaurant www.cambridgebrewhouse.com which provides directions or you can PM me and I will map out the road tour and post that this week. We are still on for October 9th with the following weekend as a backup in the event of Rain.

For those who are familiar with the Mark's Auto Parts show - the restaurant is approximately 10 minutes from there.

I will need definate confirmation of people coming and will post who I have in the original thread at the top.

Please feel free to PM me with any questions and I hope you choose to come out and enjoy sometime with your NE Corvette friends

~Shannon

Sounds like fun!!!

After the insanely hot summer we've had, I can't wait till those cool october mornings!!!

The NY/NJ guys can meet up at one of the exits on the hutch and we can take the Merritt pkwy until we approach Hartford. For those that weren't on the CT Forum/yuppie racing cruise, the Merritt pkwy is one of the best roads to drive with your vette. Its also one of the most scenic highways in CT and it will look incredible in the fall. Be warned, you'll get a permanent case of super permagrin if you ride with us on the Merritt!!!

I'm definitely in and hopefully, we'll have a big crowd by the time this event rolls around in October. I can't wait!!!

I posted in the other thread about this as well (they look like the same one but this one has a pic ;p ) Count me in. As a new owner I have to say I've never seen anything like the Corvette community. I think these get togethers are awesome

WOOHOO! Can't wait

This place is just so beautiful. At that time there will still be apple picking available. They also usually have live music and hot apple cider The ride should be incredible as well for those traveling with the NY/NJ crew.

I think I might scope out the parking again though because if I remember correctly - the drive is paved but the parking is in a stone lot - wouldn't want to surprise anyone.

Whoa!! Grond does not do unpaved

It's too low. Yes, I would appreciate if you could find out for me Shannon. Seriously, my car is too low for any unpaved driving.

Thanks

Stephen

Can't you just have a MOD party and make the darn thing 4 wheel drive? (Without raising it, of course.)

Sounds great. I am down South Jersey. I am going to need an address to see where I am going.... I might have to come alone if my S/O had to go on a trip. Might have to get a room as well. I am about 70 miles south of NYC. I got the answer myself.

Total Est. Time: 3 hours, 38 minutes Total Est. Distance: 193.36 miles

Piece of cake. I am going to be taking a 1000 mile round
trip to Ohio in Sept. And of course there is next weekend's trip.

Why not just get some powerful fans and make it a hover craft?
