Default Quickest/Fastest FI Corvette? Prove it!!

Should be some serious coverage for this event.

This miss this event specially for us!

Corvette C4/C5/C6 Corvette Shootout.

The National Muscle Car Association, the most recognized muscle car series in the US, is pleased to announce that it will host a very special C4/C5/C6 Corvette Shootout at its Bowling Green, Kentucky, event May 1-3, 2009. Everything Corvette can be found in Bowling Green - the National Corvette Museum and GM’s Corvette plant.

The NMCA’s C4/C5/C6 Corvette Shootout will be a special “event within an event,” at the NMCA’s Bowling Green, KY, motorsport show. The Shootout will attract the fastest turbocharged, supercharged, nitrous-powered and naturally aspirated Corvettes from around the county to compete on a national stage. They will join the NMCA’s already large base of muscle car racers and enthusiasts. Other exciting features of this NMCA event include a huge auto show and shine, a giant manufacturers’ midway/swap meet and a 300+ mph jet car!

C4/C5/C6 Corvette Shootout Classes:

Corvette Rumble Class:

The Corvette Rumble class will pair C4, C5, and C6 Corvettes against each other in an all-inclusive index-style race format. C4 Corvettes will all run together on Saturday as a group. C5 and C6 Corvettes will also run together in their respective groups. This will build a team atmosphere for each generation of Corvette competitor. Sunday class eliminations will mix together all Corvette Rumble competitors to race each other for the class championship.

Corvette Rumble Class Payouts and Awards:

Winner: $2,000 + Jacket + Plaque + TBD Grand Prize
Runner-Up: * $1,000 + Plaque
Semis: * $500
Quarters: * $250

The Corvette Rumble class is designed for high performance, stock-type suspension Corvettes. Specific rules to be announced over next few weeks.

C4/C5/C6 Corvette Shootout Specialty Awards:

The C6 Corvette is arguably the finest muscle car ever produced by the Big Three. The C5 Corvette is revered as the modern day ’69 Camaro because of its awesome power, affordability, and huge value. The C4 Corvette ushered in a completely new era of Corvette performance and appearance. C4/C5/C6 Corvette owners are proud, passionate, and they like to lay claim to their exploits…especially on the Corvette forums!

The NMCA will present the following specialty awards on the Saturday of the C4/C5/C6 Corvette Shootout for each generation of Corvette – C4, C5 and C6 (12 Winners Total):

Fastest Naturally Aspirated Plaque + Jacket
Fastest Nitrous Assisted Plaque + Jacket
Fastest Supercharged Plaque + Jacket
Fastest Turbocharged Plaque + Jacket

World’s Fastest C4/C5/C6 Corvettes:

Special awards will be given to the World’s Fastest C4, C5 and C6 Corvettes. These awards will be presented on the starting line on the Sunday of the event and the times used for determination will come from Saturday’s three time trial passes.

World’s Fastest C4 Corvette $500 + Plaque + Jacket
World’s Fastest C5 Corvette $500 + Plaque + Jacket
World’s Fastest C6 Corvette $500 + Plaque + Jacket

Nostalgia Vette Challenge:

Older Corvette enthusiasts are invited to participate in the Nostalgia Vette Challenge, where they can win bonus cash and prizes for winning an NMCA class with a C1, C2, or C3 Corvette. Every NMCA event features older muscle cars competing in the Nostalgia Muscle Car, Nostalgia Super Stock, True Street, and Open Comp classes.

Purse: Win one of the cool classes listed above in an older Corvette and the NMCA will double the winner’s purse and give you a cool winner’s jacket!

I'll bet not one ECS customer shows up!
Sounds like fun! Hopefully you guys will get some video. Maybe Paul Major will show up and ruin it for all the C5 hopefuls.

His shouldn't even be considered a Corvette anymore since it's on F-body suspension. But it's a bad mother!

With a trailer it is 14ish hours for us, I would think it would substantially more for you. I like racing, but not that much.

There is lots here for everyone, SC, Turbo nitrous and all motor.
It is not just for the quickest either as the money goes to the index racing event.
You only need a cage if you car runs quick enough to require a cage

NMCA contact page list emails for their organization so if you would like to speak to someone, the list is here http://www.nmcadigital.com/contactus.php

We will be there with a Nitrous car and likely a TT car.

I don't think mine will be together by then, but who knows!

exactly....we would trailer ours out there, but we are shooting for 8.7X-8.9's out of it at 165+ mph. the track here will let us run it because it is a true street car. i drive the car everyday. but i wouldn't want to take it on that long of a trip for just one run. will have to see about this .....
