This has been in the planning for a while, we are finally able to announce the event! There will be a winter gathering in Florida on January 16 - 19 at the Adams Mark hotel on world famous Daytona Beach.

We currently have 100 rooms set aside at the rate of $99 a night. That's down about $100 from their normal rates for that time of the year.

The schedule of events are as follows -

Thursday night - A welcome party with a cash bar at the Adams Mark! Check in the hotel and then meet up with us for a first night blow out!

Friday - We have scheduled an autocross on Friday afternoon followed by drag races Friday night all at the Gainesville Raceway which is about 1 hour 30 minutes outside of Daytona. You can watch or participate. There is no charge to watch, and $50 to participate in both the auto cross and drag race. Thats $50 for both events, not each one. 12/10 - Change!!! Please note that due to a 2 to 1 vote by those attending, the autocross has been dropped. No one is more disappointed about this than I am. We will still have a drag race at the track from 1 to 4 pm followed by a car show at the hotel. The new price for the track event is $30 per car. Those of you who paid $50 for the track event will receive a $20 refund in Daytona.

Saturday - (Your going to love this!) - We will be spending the day at the Daytona International Speedway! We will leave the hotel at 9:30 am and meet up with the others (who live locally and are not staying at the hotel) at the track at 10 am. We will be there for the NASCAR winter testing that the teams go through every January at the track. We will get passes for Daytona USA, a tram tour of the entire property to include the pits and infield area, Lunch, a guided tour of the Winston Tower, and then we will get to run a few pace laps on the track! After lunch we will be allowed to stay as long as we want to watch the NASCAR Goodies Series drivers run their testing. The price for this is $50 a person. We will also have a car show Saturday night at either the Hotel or at a location close to the hotel.

Then - Saturday evening we will have a dinner buffet and cash bar back at the hotel where we will give out door prizes and awards for the racing events from Friday. This is scheduled in the Atlantic Room at the Adams Mark which is directly off of the restaurant. The buffet is as follows:

ALL YOU CAN EAT PRIME RIB AND SEAFOOD BUFFET
$18.95 (tax and gratuity not included)

Peel and Eat Shrimp
Snow Crab
Prime Rib
Salad Bar
Baked Potato Bar
Seafood Soup
Chef prepared Pasta
Catch of the Day
Chef's Entree of the Day

The hotel is now accepting reservations for this event. Call 1-800-444-ADAM to schedule your reservations. If you want to attend this event, I need to have you post in this thread so we can add more rooms if needed. I'll try to read this thread a few times a week, post any questions you have here and I'll respond as soon as I can.

there is a great bar downstairs in the Adams Mark, its called Berncatles Fest House, great selection of rare imports, right on the beach too...just my two cent

sounds cool. If you're looking for a bar, I just had lunch on Sunday at a place called 'The North Turn' in Ponce Inlet, about 5-8 miles south of the strip. Right on the ocean, though.
