If you're going for the first time and registered for Fun Field (is there any other way to go to Carlisle??) get there EARLY on Friday and Saturday. The fun field will fill up by 9:30 on Friday and by 8 sometimes on Saturday if the weather is good. We're usually there by 6 both days for breakfast.

Bring a pop up canopy if you can, and two folding chairs. You'll need a place to relax and some shade because both are VERY limited there. You can put your canopy up and let it there all weekend. Nobody will bother it. Bring comfy shoes and a hat, and an umbrella just in case. You can pick up a 10 x 10 or 8x8 canopy at Dicks Sporting Goods or Wal Mart for less than $100 bucks. Well worth the investment. I have 4 now. lol And bring along a cooler. I take a collapsible one on the trip, then fill it up at the hotel each morning. Takes up less room in the car on the drive. Dang, it's 20* and snowing right now. Thinking about Carlisle makes me want to wish summer away so I can go right now. But I want to enjoy summer after this long, long winter.

Picture yourself walking to the top of a mountain, and when you reach the top and look down the other side...............all you see are Corvettes. Every color, every year. A literal SEA of Corvettes. Hundreds and hundreds.....even thousands! THAT's Corvettes at Carlisle!

Are there gonna beany celebs or Chevrolet big wheels scheduled to be there....you know, to bring in more folks or signing autographs?
I'm getting really really antsy with excitement waiting to go. My dad is doing everything he can to have his ride absolutely perfect before the show. He just bought a Grand Sport hood insulation that hes about to install, bought one of those between the seat travel bags, about to install a ZO6 rear spoiler and is looking into getting the curb rash on the wheels fixed before then.

We're expecting an amazing turnout of vendors, we focus heavily in this area because we realize people LOVE to shop for Corvette related products. Our vendors are the heartbeat to our organization, obviously the show-goers are the true enthusiasts and they also help make Corvettes at Carlisle what it is... Rest assured we'll have an amazing turnout!
I hope to see you at the event.

Lance

Is it possible to go to this on a whim? I live an hour and a half away and don't generally care for car shows but I figure I should at least go for one day just to know what I'm missing.

Sure you can. You can bring your Vette and pay to park in general Corvette parking inside the fairgrounds, or you can bring any other car and park outside the fairgrounds, then just pay spectator rate. You don't have to commit to the whole weekend.
