CORVETTES AT CARLISLE : August 23-25, 2013 : Official Thread
#121
I've seen cars with the stickers lined up along the windshield post for five, or six years at Carlisle, so they are pretty durable also. Some consider this to be a testament to their devotion to Carlisle.
Position it near upper left, (Drivers side,) corner of windshield.

Guess I dont have the patience, I have never been able to get it off intact...always seems to shred...so I just get the razor out...scrape it off use some WD 40 and the glue is gone...I take it off as soon as I get home from Carlisle.

Yes, you can drive in through Gate 5. Please keep in mind that the roadway isn't paved and it's bumpy. I wouldn't recommend driving your Corvette in through this entrance due to the bumps & etc.
Sorry for the slow response!

Thanks for the reply Lance. I know that you've been very busy the last several weeks. I departed thru that gate last year when we left on Sunday and it is dusty.

Okay I have a question. I have a C5 that I want to bring to Carlisle. It is not a show car but a nice car that is very drag racing based. (ls7) I want to come and be parked with all of the other corvettes both days. I do not autocross only drag race which I wont do because it is a 10 hours drive and I dont want to break it. My question is what do I sign up for? There are about 6 different things to sign up for. It will be me and my significant other and I am mainly interested in viewing the cars and maybe the swap meet along with some of the engineering talks. Can you point me in the right direction?

When you get to the fairgrounds, stop at Gate 3 and get a Fun Field pass. This will get you premium parking inside the fairgrounds, a goody bag with the "swag", and access to all the seminars, swap meet, etc. You'll get a program inside your bag, or you can pick one up inside the barn where you pick your goody bag up. You can sign up for the parade on Friday and that's a separate cost. You don't have to do autocross or anything you don't want to. We go Thursday and stay till Saturday night. If you haven't got a hotel yet, good luck. Bring a pop up canopy or some sort of shade and a couple of folding chairs (there is NO shade other than the bleachers). Wear comfortable shoes because you will walk MILES! Bring sunscreen too because it's been known to be in the 90's and 100's during this weekend. And bring a camera, and a whole lot of money for all that great Corvette stuff you'll want to buy.

If you are only going for 2 days it would be cheaper to get the corvette parking on grounds I believe, which would get you and a passenger in. I think you can still sign up online, but probably have to pick up your sticker for the Funfield.
