It's almost here. Wednesday August 12th 5:00 PM to 7:30 PM. The weather report looks great so there should be a great turnout. Once again I want to thank all that have writen, called, and met me at cruise nights that have told me they hope to make it. There could be 200 to 250 Corvettes there that night. I think that is really great for a mid week all Corvette free event. Thank you.
The meet & greet will beging at 5:00 PM at the
Radisson/Kingsley Hotel
39475 Woodward
Bloomfield Hills, Mi 48304
248-631-2377
(I think they still have some rooms available)
The hotel will be serving sliders and hot dogs, chips, soda, snickers and bottled water. There will be signs posted to lead yu to the food.
Sliders with or without chees will be 2.00 hot dogs 4.00 soda and bottled water 2.00. Don't forget to bring yuou chairs.
During the meet & greet we wil be having a 50/50 raffle with proceeds donated to the food bank. At 7:15 PM we will have a drivers meeting. We will have the 50/50 drawing then and give any last minute information.
At 7:30 PM we will leave the parking lot and begin criusing south on Woodward. We will take over the two center lanes of traffic. Unfortunately I could not get police escorts so we need to do the best we can in keeping the group together. Two way radios would help. This many Corvettes would form a line over 1.5 miles long. If everyone shoows up it could be even longer so that when the first car gets to the church at Eleven Mile the last car will be waving to the WOMC DJ at Duggins at Thirteen Mile.
ST. John's Church is located on the SE corner of Woodward and Eleven Mile.
There are only 110 parking places at the church so many of us will be using the drive thru method of donations. The church will have extra help on hand to make this process go quickly.
We can regroup at the church and continue the cruise north on Woodward. Looking at the weather forecast I am sure many of you will take advantage of the great weather and cruise til the cops chase us home. Don't forget to check out Sam's Shell across from Duggan's. If you like Die cast cars Look for the Auto Zone just north of Fourteen Mile road. It is across the street from the best soft serve on Woodward.
Bring your camera
I am not sure at this time if the Grand Sport Club will make it in time to cruise with us but they do plan on cruising sometime later Wednesday night.
