Great news for those who signed up for a plant tour on Friday, September 4, the plant has just announced that it will be running on Friday!! So, for both Thursday and Friday you will have open tours with the plant running. It is recommended that you still sign up on line at: http://www.bowlinggreenassemblyplant.com/
September 3-6, 2009, the Corvette Museum will host the largest event in its history as it celebrates its 15th anniversary. This 15th Anniversary Celebration is expected to draw 6,000 – 7,000 participants and 3,000 – 4,000 Corvettes in caravans traveling to Bowling Green from all over the United States.
Because of this unique opportunity for so many Corvette owners to visit the birthplace of the Corvette, Bowling Green Assembly has altered its production the week of August 31 from our typical Monday – Thursday workweek to Tuesday – Friday. Therefore, the plant will be CLOSED Monday, August 31, and IN PRODUCTION Friday, September 4. This change will allow us to accommodate many enthusiasts who have planned to watch our Corvette line running and catch a glimpse of the American pride built into the car of their dreams. Our customers are key to the success of the Corvette and this plant, and this schedule change demonstrates our commitment to you.
I think they were probably abused pretty bad by alot of people (myself incuded) after they sent out the notice that it would be closed on a Corvette weekend this big. I'm glad I kept my friday time.
Hmmm. I can't say I abused them but I spoke my mind in the other caravan thread. So glad they decided to have a change of heart about this. So, to Corvette Assembly and the workers there
This is my first trip to Bowling Green because I'm a new owner. I'm so excited!!! But Friday's tours are sold out. Ugh. If anyone has an extra ticket please PM me. I can't go Thursday, as I am driving in late.
But I REALLY REALLY REALLY want to see the inside of the plant. Thank in advance.
I am on the Friday AM plant tour. Good thing I have internet access this week while on the caravan, otherwise I would not of known you have to watch their safety video before you can go on the plant tour. Otherwise you can't go on the tour. Just received the email saturday. Was not aware of that. Would of missed out.
Tour was great!!! they didn't hurry us, we must have spoke to a supervisor Todd, for about 45 minutes. Didn't get his last name but what a nice guy he was. Just a different and much better tour than last time. Even the workers acknodwledged us and thanked us for coming.

I agree. No rushing at all. stand around for awhile and watch, and all were saying "thanks for coming" Very nice tour. Enjoyed watching the ZR1s come to life.

Totally ROCKED!! Even got to crank up one of the ZR1s at the engine install/test station. Couldn't have been any better.
Tour was great . My wife even got to start a new Vette for the first time as it reached the end of the line. The workers were very appreciative and friendly. The entire week was awsome .
