Default CO: Looking for C5 Z06 Laptimes at 2nd Creek Raceway

Hey guys,

New to the forum but been looking into C5 Z06's lately.

Anyways, I'm a big track (roadcourse) guy and was curious if any of you guys have timed yourself at 2nd Creek? I'm looking to get a comparison between the Z06 and my current M3.

Thanks!

I'll give this thread a bump because I'd like to know the same thing myself. I can however tell you that from driving my ZO6 daily, it is faster than an M3 in a straight line (even though just about anyone with a brain can tell you that). I hope your question gets answered.

JakeL races there I think. You might try PM'ing him. He doesn't have a Z06 but his coupe had Z06 suspension the last time I talked to him. Hope that helps. Kaley

Thanks.

The Z06 should destroy my M3 in very performance category in the book. I just want to get an idea of how much faster it is...

With the Z06 prices coming down there days, its a hard bargain to pass up.

I remember someone on the forum saying that the top speed they reached in their Z06 down the long stright away at Second Creek was about 90 MPH.

I'm not at all familiar with the track, so I can't offer any more details, I only remember reading that number. But that was a long time ago...

90 MPH is pretty good. I was able to get my business partner's 2001 911TT up to 92MPH on that stretch. I'm not that good of a track driver, however, so I don't know if that really matters.

Spencer, I was out with a Porsche club and posted a 1 min 20 sec, whereas the fastest porsches were posting 1.16. I have seen older formula fords at 1.10.

BTW I was in a 2000 vette coupe A4, run flats which I destroyed (thank goodness they are gone) and had issues with brake fade.

I do not have a Z06 but a C5 coupe.
my best lap measured on my last visit was 1'14"38.
It was not my fastest but the other one were not measured.
I think I'm in the high 1'13".
I had slick and the T1 sway bars.
but I do not have the stiff leaf spring of the Z06.
I saw GO4IT with his Z06 does 1"12"XX.

Thanks for the info. Those are some quick times! I'm slightly breaking the 1'20'' barrier with street tires, so a healthy 8-9 second jump would be nice!

The GO4IT Z06 is a T1 spec racecar, correct? I know I saw one of Mike's cars on Speed when they aired the runoffs.

BTW, to all those interested, 2nd Creek was approved for a 1 year extension on their lease (which was supposed to run out this year).

Yes GO4IT is a T1 spec. with slick.
just slick should give you 2 secondes with Z06 tires and at least 3 sec with the F......g run flat tires
