Default Need Some Weather Related Guidance

Folks,

Greetings from the Northeast!

My wife and I will be traveling Route 66 in April, 2005 in our 2003 AE 'vert. When we get to Santa Monica we intend to travel up the Pacific Coast Highway from Los Angeles to Portland and than 'turn right' and head back east. The major landmark we hope to see on the way back is Mount Rushmore. I'm asking for some guidance, so I have a couple of questions:

1) What are our chances of getting up to Mount Rushmore in our Corvette around April 14th?

2) Would you suggest taking I-90 or I-84 through the mountains in Idaho/Montana around April 12th?

3) Is there anything else I'm missing?

Thanks in advance.

Okay J3, The problem is that the spring time weather is so unpredictable
I would sure you would be good to go, but I've never been to Mt. Rushmore

Being that, if the weather is cooperating I would go I-90 the scenery is much better, but if the weather is bad I-84 would be your best bet, but this just my opinion
