Went to HPR today!
Well my buddy Erich ( erichg100 ) and Doug ( tinman ) and I, went to the Z Club track day at High Plains Raceway. it was hot and fun tones a space to push the cars. The track seemed kinda slick to me, my hoosiers didn't feel like they wanted to heat up and the rear felt kinda loose. I ended up pushing really hard and blew out the cords on my fronts and boiled my brakes! I did manage to get one 2:05 lap and the rest were 2:06 and 2:07's lap times. lots of fun. now to buy new tires are brakes!!!

I was bumming around and saw this post. 5280racer I watched half your video and just wanted to put in a plug for you to take one of the BMW high performance driving schools at HPR before you spend too much money on slicks and brakes. I took my C6 out and learned so much, especially about taking the right driving line. My BMW instructor friend has an almost unmodified 98 BMW M3 (240hp and about the same weight as your car) with R compound tires and runs 2:06 at HPR. Another BMW school instructor runs a C6 Z06 with street tires and hits 2:01. You would learn a lot from these guys and maybe I'll see you there. Porsche also has similar classes.
I wish we had a Corvette track club in CO, they are such awesome cars. Driven properly they will run circles around just about anything short of Porsche GT3s etc.

I feel the need to bump this as me and Eric just cranked out a 2:06 on crappy street tires. That's pretty much a 2:05 by your calculations, right?
