The RTD simulator resistors do go bad, or one of my did anyway.
There are 8 canisters, 4 with single 13.4 Ohm resistors and 4 with two resistors (looks like 8K and 10K ohm).
One of the single resistor canisters went bad and is now 12.2 ohms. There are pin holes in the black glump they seal it with.
This is probably enough to cause the ESC to think its off course.
Found a local guy with a Tech2 that will do it on the weekend for $40, no dealer hassle....thanks a bunch guys for your help.
However, if I do need dealer work, Purifoy will be the place I go, they wanted to be very helpful although they did not understand what I was asking for to be done.
Hajek is on the unofficial list of GM dealers to be closed in 2010 and they gave me the typical "You can drop it off and we will let you know what we find." .... no thanks!
Sunday I had a GM certified Tech with a Tech 2 remove the F45 option. Took 5 minutes, if that, highly recommend this option. Guy was very knowledgeable about GM tranny's, torque tubes, etc and will open his own shop soon. FYI, its always good to know a trustworthy mechanic.
You will need to bring instructions to any dealership as they are not familiar with this process.
